At the south exit of Métro Laurier in Montreal. It's a tiny park, called Parc Berri-Saint-Joseph, wedged against boulevard Saint Joseph. This mural adds a welcome touch of color to the place.

River June
This isn't the first post about River June (see StreetArt #427 pour Canettes de Ruelle or Weekly StreetArt #135). For the record, she's a Montreal-based artist and illustrator. From an early age, she's been passionate about nature. Her works highlight endangered animal species, particularly birds, as on this loon mural.
Ce n'est pas le premier post à propos de River June (voir StreetArt #427 pour Canettes de Ruelle ou Weekly StreetArt #135). Pour rappel, il s'agit d'une artiste et illustratrice basée à Montréal. Depuis son plus jeune âge, c'est une passionnée de la nature. Ses œuvres mettent en avant une espèce animale en danger, en particulier les oiseaux comme sur cette murale avec ce huard.
To create this mural, River June focused on a Quebec bird with the Huard. I don't think the species is endangered. She was helped by girls from Usahat Mak Mani-utenam, an Innu community located in the very north of Quebec (about 900 km from Montreal along the St. Lawrence). It's a really beautiful piece of work, especially with the background I mentioned in the introduction. Too bad the mural has already been crossed 😤.
Pour réaliser cette murale, River June s'est concentré sur un oiseau du Québec avec le Huard. Je ne pense pas que l'espèce est en danger. Elle a été aidée par des filles de la communauté Usahat Mak Mani-utenam, une communauté innue située tout au nord du Québec (environ 900 km de Montréal en suivant le Saint Laurent). C'est vraiment une très belle réalisation surtout avec ce fond comme je l'ai en introduction. Dommage que la murale a été déjà tagguée 😤.
Not far away on Laurier Street are these two Inseparables Parrots, also painted by River June. They're located at the Pastille chocolate factory . I didn't know it when I took this photo, but it's quite famous. I'll have to go and try their creations and especially their brownie (supposedly delicious). What do you think of River June's work? Pretty cool and a good idea to raise people's ecological awareness.
Pas très loin sur la rue Laurier, il y a ces deux Inséparables, eux aussi dessinés par River June. Ils se trouvent sur la chocolaterie Pastille. Je ne le savais pas quand j'ai pris cette photo, mais elle est assez renommée. Il faudra que j'y aille gouter leurs créations ainsi que leur brownie (soit disant délicieux). Que pensez-vous de l'oeuvre de River June ? Plutôt sympathique et bonne idée pour conscientiser les gens à l'écologie.

Very cool works by River June. I love loons. They are associated with the north woods and the wilderness in the states. We are on the southern edge of their range and are fortunate to have several nexting pairs around the local small lakes.
