For the CCC's Street Art Contest #242 organized by @digi-me, I again chose a mural by River June featuring this magnificent hummingbird. I do wonder what happened to the lower part of the brick wall, as if the dust couldn't have gotten past the electrical wires 🤔.

On the corner of Valois avenue at Ontario street, across from place Simon Valois in Montreal's Hochelaga Maisonneuve district. I was curious to know who this Simon Valois was, a wealthy landowner (1791-1875) who donated his immense estate, which was located in the district (see toponymie.gouv.qc.ca).
Au coin de l'avenue Valois au niveau de la rue Ontario, en face de la place Simon Valois à Montréal, dans le quartier Hochelaga Maisonneuve. J'étais curieux de savoir qui était ce Simon Valois, riche propriétaire foncier (1791-1875) qui a donné son immense domaine qui se situait dans le quartier (voir toponymie.gouv.qc.ca).

River June
With all the posts I write about this artist, you must be starting to know her 😀. River June is a Montreal artist and illustrator who loves to paint animals, especially birds to raise awareness of ecological issues among the youngest. This Colibri was painted thanks to the Y'a quelqu'un de l'autre bord du mur association (There's someone on the other side of the wall, I like the name), which helps improve the lives of local residents. This bird is perfect for inviting passers-by into this alleyway. Especially as another colorful wall can be seen in the background.
Avec tous les posts que j'écris sur cette artiste, vous devez commencer à la connaitre 😀. River June est une artiste et illustratrice montréalaise qui aime peindre des animaux, surtout des oiseaux pour conscientiser les plus jeunes aux problèmes écologiques. Ce Colibri a été peint grâce à l'association Y’a quelqu’un de l’autre bord du mur (j'aime beaucoup le nom) qui améliorer la vie des habitants du quartier. Cet oiseau est parfait pour inviter les passants à rentrer dans cette ruelle. Surtout qu'aun fond, on peut apercevoir un autre mur coloré.
Nancy Isabelle Labrie
Just after the Hummingbird by River June, we see this garage painted by Nancy Isabelle Labrie, also from Montreal. I don't know if this is her only mural, but she works more with children, especially in make-up. This wall is really beautiful with this colorful portrait. On the electric box, there was another portrait glued on, also quite pretty despite its condition.

Juste après le Colibri de River June, on voit ce garage peint par Nancy Isabelle Labrie, une artiste aussi de Montréal. Je ne sais pas si c'est sa seule murale, mais elle travaille plus avec les enfants, surtout niveau maquillage. Ce mur est vraiment beau avec ce portrait coloré. Sur le boitier électrique, il y avait un autre portrait collé assez joli aussi malgré son état.

I like the hummingbird although the colors make the second artists work interesting. My guess is power washer cleaned the second story but not below 🤔
It's strange why clean in the middle, as the very top looks just as dirty 🤔
