Passing by the Legal Wall de Rouen for the second time this month, I saw the first work of the year by the artist Polographe. And as I had in mind to make a post to gather (almost) all the family members he painted in 2023, mostly on these same walls, this will be the perfect post to make a gallery with all his characters.
En passant pour la deuxième ce mois ci par le Mur Légal de Rouen, j'ai vu la première œuvre de l'année de l'artiste Polographe. Et comme j'avais dans l'idée de faire un post pour rassembler (presque) tous les membres de la famille qu'il a peints en 2023, le plus souvent sur ces mêmes murs, cela sera le post parfait pour faire une galerie avec tous ses personnages.
We start the year with a majestic lion. It seems that 2024 will be more “animal” than the previous year. 2023 was more “family”. / FR : On commence l'année avec un lion majestueux. Il semble que l'année 2024 sera plus "animal" que l'année précédente. 2023 était plus "famille".

Polographe
Paul Gautier aka Polographe is a French artist now based in Montreal. He is also an art director in the video game industry. The characters painted on the walls could very well be the heroes of a video game, especially with these 3D effects.
Paul Gautier aka Polographe est artiste français maintenant basé à Montréal. Il est aussi directeur artistique dans l'industrie du jeux vidéo. Les personnages peints sur les murs peuvent très bien être les héros d'un jeu vidéo surtout avec cet effet 3D.
Last year, Polographe had a series on the family with children, parents and even grandparents. I had missed a few characters including the mother or I arrived a day late. A tagger had beaten me to it 😤
L'année dernière, Polographe avait une série sur la famille avec les enfants, les parents et même les grand-parents. J'avais manqué quelques personnages dont la mère ou je suis arrivé un jour en retard. Un taggeur m'avait devancé 😤
With his style and always the same color palette, it's easy to recognize this artist's work. I really enjoy seeing one of these new murals, always of the highest quality. For the father, I was also late, but fortunately the portrait was still visible, with a few funny additions (Spock-style ears and a small gold chain $).
Avec son style et toujours la même palette de couleurs, il est facile de reconnaitre les œuvres de cet artiste. J'aime beaucoup voir une de ces nouvelles murales, toujours de la qualité. Pour le père, j'étais passé aussi en retard mais heureusement le portrait était toujours visible avec quelques ajouts humoristiques (oreilles style Spock et petite chaine en or).
And finally I end with this portrait 🔽 although I don't think it was part of the family series as it was done in 2022. But I think it goes well with this gallery. / FR : Et enfin je termine avec ce portrait 🔽 par contre je ne pense pas qu'il faisait de la série famille car il a été fait en 2022. Mais je trouve qu'il va bien avec cette galerie.
I can't wait to see the different animals he'll be painting at the Legal Wall de Rouen this year, especially as he's particularly fond of "big cats". Do you like the style of the Polographe?
