Antofagasta Street Art (En/Es)

The economy of the Antofagasta region is based in the mining activity, for this reason many of the street art pieces in this town deal with the social and environmental consequences of mining. The photo of the mural that I show today fits in this category. You can see it has a powerful message, and its style is very different from the usual street art. The colors have faded away, since it has been on the wall for more than two years.

La economía de la región de Antofagasta gira principalmente entorno a la actividad minera. Por lo que buena parte del arte callejero que se observa en esta ciudad se basa en las consecuencias sociales y ecológicas de esta actividad extractiva. La foto del mural que publico en este post se enmarca en esta categoría. Pueden observar que el estilo de la pintura no es el usual de ”street art”. Además vale la pena reseñar que los colores han perdido su intensidad por el sol, ya que este mural lleva más de dos años en esta ubicación.

In the first image I corrected the perspective. In the second image I show a black and white version. In the third, you can see how this mural is located on the street.

En la primera imagen edite de forma tal para que no tuviera distorsión por la perspective. La segunda imagen es una versión en blanco y negro, mientras que en la tercera pueden ver su ubicación en la calle.
