Seems like a fun memory with your friends. I've been to conventions, but mostly as a fan. Sometimes, my friends and I would cosplay, but we didn't really participate in the events on stage... I miss those days, but I really can't stand the crowd even more now. T_T

It's Tegoshi ๐ I think that photo was taken while we were waiting for Van to be evaluated. I love hearing that you've been to manga and anime conventions. What cosplays did you do with your friends? It's okay and valid to cosplay without competing. Not everyone is a competitive cosplayer; some are just there to show off their costumes. Personally, I like both types and have done both.
I'm sorry you can't tolerate being in crowded places, but it's great that you don't force yourself to be where you don't want to be or where you're not comfortable. Maybe in the future there will be an outdoor event in your area with plenty of space where people don't crowd together too much ๐
