A few of days ago I did a post about starting an initiative to support newbies. Yesterday I launched it and it's called Apis Hive, you can read about it here https://peakd.com/hive-186600/@apis.hive/apis-hive-growing-on-hive.
Put simply, Apis Hive is a support initiative that allows users to claim assets every day that will lead to Hive delegations. In 138 days, they could get 320 HP delegation. Yes, it takes a while, and yes the delegation isn't massive. The road is long, but there's a reason behind it, let me explain.

Many new accounts join Hive every day, fake, alts, bots, sock, spam. Then there are some real people who were told they can earn by posting on Hive. Wouldn't it be great if some of them also have a long term vision on Hive and helped grow the platform? These are the people I want to find and support in my initiative. The cynicism in me tells me there aren't that many. I want my initiative to prove me wrong.
In order to support the people with this mindset, I'm going to look at how they manage their account first. The criteria identified aren't a big ask.
- rep 40 and above
- be active in posting, curating and engaging
- not participate in any form of abuse or create low quality content
- no self voting
- have at least 30 HP staked
- not powering down
- not liquidise any rewards
- not delegate out more than 30% of your staked HP
The next step, is to help them learn and appreciate Hive, and understand the long term benefits of growing their account at a steady pace. People tend not to appreciate things when it comes too easily and too quickly. It becomes an entitlement. That's why I've opted to take a slow approach with Apis Hive. Users can use this time to let the wider community discover their commitment, trustworthiness and dedication to Hive and build their network on that. Trust and integrity are important here.
And of course, I'd like to reward users for their effort and dedication. Delegation is one way, as is potential upvotes. It won't be a big bang upvote and it's not a guarantee, but it will help them to grow their account steadily. Potentially there could be additional support from the wider community, from people whose trust they've gained and the networks they've built throughout the process. How much they manage to get is entirely dependent on how they've portrayed themselves. And that's the key to longevity on Hive and the whole point of Apis Hive - for users to forge their own path on Hive, with a little help on the side.
In the long run, I'd love for Apis Hive members to be recognized as a trusted group of users by the wider Hive community. I'll even get them an Apis Hive badge for the recognition. I'd love for this group to help drive Hive forward, and to support the next wave of new users to do the same. Paying forward is a great thing to do.
So far, many whom I'm glad to say share the same beliefs about Hive, have offered their support and help for Apis Hive. I don't know how things will pan out yet and if I need to take up your offer, but thanks in advance, I may be knocking on your door soon. In the meanwhile, if you can send good users to Apis Hive that would be great.
Last but not the least, none of this would have been possible without my partner in crime 😄. A massive thanks goes to @asgarth for his help in developing https://apishive.blog/. For those who don't know, he is the dev behind Peakd, in my opinion, the best front end on Hive. I couldn't have asked for a better person to help me out. Without his input, I wouldn't have been able to pull this off. @asgarth is very modest about his involvement, and when I asked him how he wanted to describe his role for the website FAQ, this is what he wrote. Thank you @asgarth.
Hive definitely needs more longterm dedicated users who genuinely care about the platform’s growth. I admire the structured approach you're taking to identify and support them. Wishing Apis Hive great success. Are you accepting nominations for these Hivers who deserve to be a part of this initiative?
Definitely, if you come across any users who you think will fit the criteria, feel free to send them to Discord for a chat, or just ping me. Ultimately I will be checking the account and if there's anything that could do with a helping hand I'll be glad to help
Good luck with the idea! I hope you will find some gems among those new users... We need more people with a long-term vision! 💪
I confident there are some gems hanging around, just need to find them. If you come across any, don't forget to send them over.
Very good idea and an important one at that. People come here for different reasons and if we can help them understand the opportunity here beyond just the social media/blogging mechanics and that there is a “long game” element to hive. The better for all of us!
I think that is a really good idea. I like the thought of making sure they are keeping their rewards on the chain. I also like the idea that after the prove it they get a decent delegation. Very cool!
If people are not here primarily for the rewards, I believe this will work. They're not asked to do anything more than what a normal good user would do
A great initiative for worthy new users. I love to support new users but haven't been motivated lately as I have expressed. My thoughts are very much in line with this and yes paying foward helps us all out as a whole.
Maybe I answer this question again, What is your new tactic now? I would love to be part of this. Better to be part of something bigger than do it all by yourself! I would be willing to chip in anyway I can. Anyways I offer myself if needed 😁
Thanks so much in advance for your offer @coolmidwestguy. I hope things will ramp up and I will need help from others very soon!
I'm sure this will take off. I'll be on the look out for some prospective users and might just get some brand new users I can coach up before they arrive.
I like the idea. I wish you nothing but success with this initative. It is so needed.
Thanks, I appreciate the support here!
Hi and thank you!
For my part, I love the blogging here in Markdown, but I don't have time or interest for money and the mechanics here on Hive. I would appreciate a very short sum up of why I should bother about the percentage of my likes. Yes, that's where I'm standing 😅 Thank you
Just enjoy yourself, that's the best approach 👍
I'm really happy for this initiative and I'm ready to do what I can. I'm just curious, how will you find new Hive users who deserve support, or how will this initiative get in front of them? How do we keep this initiative alive?
@asgarth is really a very humble person. I have seen him in the Holozing team before. I don't see him actively posting or have a witness node for him, but if there's somewhere I can support him, I'd be happy to do so. People like this should be rewarded more on Hive.
At the moment it's still quite reactive in terms of finding users, I'm relying on recommendations from people. I'll need to get a program where I can scan for users that fit the criteria and invite them.
Yes asgarth is a great guy, so responsive and pretty much everything is doable, apart from when I have some wacky weird requests 😀
It is great to see what you are doing? You have always been great at helping the newbies! I am here to help when you need to start knocking on our doors.
Thanks so much Sara, I appreciate it!!!❤️
Slow and steady wins the race, I am sure, these users will get support from the wider community in the long run.
I'd love the users to do some work themselves instead of having everything handed out to them. When the handouts finish often they'll find they have no network and support because they never bothered to work on that area
Yeah alot of them complain when it stops, meanwhile many users never got handouts and had to work their socks off from day one.
Hive works in mysterious ways lol
That's what I hope to fix here, people should be supported if they make the effort.
Finally, it's live, long hard work, tons of brainstorming, and a dedicated project/initiative for Hive. Long way to go Pauline and wish you all the best...
Thanks Priyan! I had a lot of help to get this off the ground, and now a lot of support from so many people. There are already a lot of very good people on Hive, but we still need more 😀
Awesome iniciative! Love the gamification idea.
And I would say this is the only possible way, no added value unless this happens! Let me know if you need a hand!!BBH
I figured a little game will add some fun and if people login to collect their bee drop every day, it will remind them to stay active.
Thanks in advance for your offer to help!
It will for sure, gamification is a great strategy to keep the interest going!
Very interesting. Yeah i heard there are a lot of bots and such here. And with AI becomeing more common people can easily write so much and nothing be personal.
Absolutely, truth be told, your intro looked a little fake when I first saw it 😅, luckily Leigh said he knew you. That always makes a massive difference to new accounts. If you're up for it, we'd love for you to join Apis Hive and offer you some support with you Hive journey
This is such a great initiative! Great work!
Welcome to Hive and look forward to your active participation on Apis Hive
Thank you!!
Just tried logging in to apishive.blog and ID pending multisig sign on - I’m curious to check out the site and how it works for people.
Mmm... Are you using Hive keychain? If you still can't get on, can you pop onto our discord to see how we can solve this
I’ll try again tomorrow at some point and give you more info
Wow, this is nice Initiative, thank you for supporting Newbies
You're welcome. If you have any onboarders who are interested to stay on Hive in the long run, feel free to send them to Apis Hive
I will @livinguktaiwan. Thank you
Truly a great initiative. Best of luck with your initiative.
Thanks!
That is great to see it formally go live now Pauline. Good luck with apis!
Thanks @tengolotodo, so far the response has been very good, I'm pretty stoked 😀
Very interesting, as newbie, i want to learn more. Thank you for this initiative😊
You're welcome, I see you're on our Discord already, please don't forget to hop on the website https://apishive.blog/ everyday to claim your daily drop, that way we'll know you're still with us!
That's such a beautiful project and idea. And the rules seem more than fair to me!
Thanks Gabriela. The rules are certainly not unreasonable for someone who's thinking of staying on Hive in the long run. Hopefully the users will understand that
Well, if they don't... maybe this place is not for them? Obviously, there is a category of people who might not see this at first but as long as they accept being taught and bring a contribution with their stay here, that's fine.
I don't think it should be too easy to earn here, but we know that rewards are not always related to effort. I'm all for encouraging those who give it an honest go.
so very true, we know what it's like around here, it all depends if one wins the lottery or not. I'm trying to make small changes here
Me too. We need people to stick with it.
People with a long-term mindset will always be a minority. This is the same in all walks of life, but they do exist. Those who understand the concept of value-for-value are the ones that deserve support from the community. Folks are creating promo videos for Hive games like Moon Karts (and getting rewards for it), making and sharing @hive-echo videos (and getting rewards for it), creating infographics for @distriator (and getting rewards for it).
I say we keep en eye out for believers in the v4v philosophy and show the world what an amazing v4v ecosystem HIVE actually is.
Hive: a value4value ecosystem
And more importantly make the earning side secondary, too many people only see Hive as an ATM and have little connection to it. That devalues the chain.
Wonderful idea! Feel free to send me a DM if you want support. I can delegate some or curate people you tell me to.
I'll go read the other post now.
Thanks so much in advance for your support. Will certainly be knocking on some doors in future
I saw this Apis post yesterday. Didn’t realize it was you!
Really great initiative.
You will have my support!
Yup that's me, wearing my new hat 😄
Thanks for your support, appreciate it.
Amazing, I like games and community events... It's developing creativity and philanthropy at the same time
Hello there new account. Hope you're enjoying Hive so far
Hello. For my learning in hive @nanixxx recommended this blog to me. It is certainly very pleasant to find people who share experiences and knowledge. When I started two months ago my intention was not merely the money but the enjoyment of the opportunity to write about various topics. Very good project, let me reblog and send to my onboarders. Its a great effort and i simply appreciate the hard work
Great stuff, if your onboarders are intending to grow on Hive in the long run please send them to Apis Hive!
Absolutely
You have such a selfless idea. It's not everyday that you see someone taking the time to genuinely help others succeed. Thank you for your initiative on helping newbies like me 🙂
You're welcome, feel free to join the program if you need some support with your hive journey
anything to help the new-bees and to find the long-term dedicated community members sounds like a great initiative!
Hello there stranger! How are you doing? Finished your course yet?
hey :)
yeah finished that. Now taking part in hackathons, which is kind of stressful, but hopefully im learning something!
So are you officially a hacker?? Hope things are good with you.

im about to take part in a hackathon this week so ill let you know next weekend whether ive been headhunted for MI6 or something.
things are good enough, but winter has felt hard on me this year. Im relieved the temperature is rising a bit
This is is amazing, I'm less than a week on hive. I have the passion of educating and training people about the hive platform. I want to use focus currently is connecting with various university campus and organizing events to mentor students about the existence and the mission of the hive platform and ceasing all the opportunities that comes with it. I will love to connect with you and to learn from you. I want to be your mentee to learn as much as i can so i can carry of this passion that burns within me after discovering hive.
Personally I've been into networking for about 6 years now, I have gain many recognitions and awards . I would want to use my experience and knowledge in networking to push the hive blockchain, to go every mile to educate and to train the youth.
Hive is a complex ecosystem, unlike traditional web 2.0 social media. There is a lot to learn, and often no rules written down due to the nature of the chain. If you plan to educate others, make sure you understand how things work here first, it's not something that can be done quickly
Alright sir... I'm prepared to learn and to follow the steps of those who have gone ahead of me. Thank you for sharing your comments.
Nice contribution 🕺
thanks
