If you could change something today, what would it be? And why?
Hi hivers, it’s my first time to share something about my lifestyle here in the community. I wonder if there’s someone here who has the same lifestyle with me and my family.
It’s been a long time since my husband and I were trying to lose weight. We tried a lot of diet practice and trending meal plans online and even exercises but nothing worked. The most problem that we encountered were those methods cannot be maintained and be practiced for a long period of time.
One day, when I was searching in the internet for “natural body cleansing” I discovered something new from a medical doctor. She was sharing her meal without rice and she told us that she had been doing that for two years already. I doubted her and I told myself that was a big lie. We Filipinos believed that rice is the most important food that gave energy to our body.
Despite of my doubts, I still wanted to know more about how did she do that, and what was the science behind that kind of diet, so I stayed on her channel and watched more videos. My curiosity about Low Carbohydrates diet became intense, but I was also hesitant to try it given that I have an ulcer. As I tried to search further, I noticed that there were already many ordinary citizens and doctors who were advocating that diet and they said as they continue to practice it, it became a lifestyle already.
They called it Low-Carb Lifestyle. They even showed some medical records and testimonials on how it reversed their pre-existing medical conditions, and the best part of it weight loss was already a bonus.
With my one week of continuous research, finally I came to a point that I introduced it to my partner he was open minded about it.
January 15, 2022 was the day we started to removed rice in our meal. Aside from that we also followed the rules and guidelines for better result and sustainability, we genuinely replaced most of our stocks with low carbohydrates alternative products. They provided a food guide also that we strictly implemented in our daily meals. We even joined Low Carb community in social media to gather more encouragement and support.
In just one month, I noticed that my husband losses weight for about 5 kilograms. We were happy with the result that time so we continued with that practice until three months. Finally, we achieved the normal body mass index and we really feel great.
Our family members, neighbors, and friends, were amazed with our transformation so they asked more and more questions about it. Without hesitation we also shared with them the Food Guide and for our parents we patiently guide them on how to do it correctly, after a month they thanked us because they don’t just lose weight but they also gained confidence and finally they came to a point that their blood sugar turned normal, so they let go of their maintenance medicine.
They were others who tried also but they failed to reap the benefits of it because of lack of discipline and consistency.
Indeed, the amazing and healthy transformation that we were enjoying right now, was a result of our persistence and discipline in choosing the right food. Thus, our ’why’ was really strong enough to change not just our body but also our mind. Change in Lifestyle is really a choice, and for us, Low Carb Lifestyle is the best.
If you wanted to try this, I highly suggest that you must do your own research also, and assess yourself how strong are you to fight against your cravings for sweets and high carbohydrates food that surrounds us.

Thank you for the invitation. I appreciate it a lot.
What a great testimony! I've tried to get my husband to give up carbs, but it hasn't worked. I think we'll do it someday.
Thank you! Yes you can always try, and the moment you are ready take it seriously, it's better that you support each other throughout the journey.
