Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community! Today I'm joining you to share another day in my life. Although I'll basically be including the whole weekend as well. At school, the end of the art class for the rest of the year is approaching, as the students need to focus on their main subjects in their respective grades. So, I was asked to organize another exhibition to celebrate Christmas. We're calling it the Christmas Exhibition, although I don't really want to work with Christmas themes. I'd rather focus on creating something with the students that they've already seen in class, or rather... something we're going to see this week. It's part of the curriculum and could lead to some really interesting and good work.
¡Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Lifestyle! El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes un nuevo día en mi vida. Aunque básicamente también tomaré en cuenta al fin de semana completo. En el colegio se acerca el termino de la clase de dibujo por lo que queda de año, pues los chicos deben enfocarse en sus deberes principales con sus respectivos grados. Así que me pidieron realizar otra exposición con motivo de celebrar la navidad. La llamaríamos Exposición de Navidad, aunque yo realmente no quiero trabajar con motivos navideños pues prefiero enfocarme en producir con los chicos algo que ya han visto en clase o mejor... que vamos a ver esta semana, forma parte del contenido y puede generar un trabajo bastante interesante y bueno.
However, I'm not going to give away any details about what we'll be doing during the week that will be used for the exhibition. What I can tell you is that, given what happened at the first exhibition, I decided I didn't want to present the students' work again in the same way. To be honest, the idea of "gluing" the children's work to the stand took me by surprise. I think that method also damaged their work, mistreated it, and I don't want that to happen again. They deserve to have their work treated with respect. So, i decided to make cardboard frames to hang their work on. That way, their work won't be damaged and will be presented more properly.
Sin embargo no me voy a adelantar en dar detalles con respecto a lo que vamos a hacer durante la semana y que servirá para la exposición. Lo que si les puedo decir es que frente a lo sucedido en la primera exposición, decidí que no quería presentar los trabajos de los chicos nuevamente de la forma en que se hizo en aquella oportunidad. Siendo sincera, me tomó por sorpresa la idea de "pegar" los trabajos de los chicos en el stand. Considero que esa forma también daño sus trabajos, los maltrato y no quiero que eso pase de nuevo. Ellos merecen que sus trabajos sean tratados con respeto. Así que me propuse realizar Marcos de cartón para colgar sus trabajos. De esa forma sus trabajos no se maltrataran y serán presentados más dignamente.
Thanks to the fact that I had already searched for a good amount of scrap cardboard, I only had to look a little more this weekend to find some additional material. Although, to be honest, I'm going to need a lot more, but luckily I asked the representatives to bring a lot more cardboard this week. The initial idea is simple: cut long pieces of wood for the frame and a large support to hold the children's work. I also added a small partition to prevent the paper from falling out from the bottom and left the top open so the paper can be easily inserted and removed. They are approximately 38cm by 30cm, although they are almost square. I had to adjust it several times to get the right view. I'll give you the relevant data later. Gracias a que yo ya había hecho una búsqueda de bastante cartón desechable, solo tuve que buscar un poco más este fin de semana para poder dar con algo más. Aunque siendo sincera voy a necesitar mucho más, pero menos mal le pedí a los representantes que lleven esta semana mucho más cartón. La idea inicial es sencilla: picar trozos largos de madera para el marco y un soporte grande donde poner el trabajo de los chicos. También le coloque un pequeño tabique para que no se salga la hoja por debajo y deje la parte de arriba libre para que salga y entre fácilmente la hoja. Tienen un tamaño de alrededor de unos 38cm por 30cm, aunque casi forma un cuadrado. Debí ajustarlo varias veces para tener la visión adecuada. Luego les daré los datos correspondientes. Aún me falta mucho, tengo 28 estudiantes, aunque sinceramente algunos ya comienzan a irse de vacaciones. Sin más que decir, muchísimas gracias por pasar por aquí.
