Hoy les comparto nuestra visita al Odontologo para el primer control de ortodoncia de mi primita Andrea. Hace un mes exactamente le colocaron la ortodoncia inferior para corregir la mala posición de los dientes que causa apiñamiento.
Andrea se colocó la ortodoncia con el dinero que recibió de sus 15 años pues este era su objetivo principal. Siempre tuvo ciertas inseguridades por su dentadura, aunque no era tan grave el problema.
En las primeras consultas le realizaron limpieza dental y trabajaron las caries inferiores las cuales eran bastantes.
Nos levantamos bien temprano para salir a las 9:00 a.m de la casa ya que debíamos estar en el consultorio a las 10:00 a.m

Today I share with you our visit to the dentist for my little cousin Andrea's first orthodontic check-up. Exactly one month ago she was fitted with lower braces to correct the bad position of her teeth that causes overcrowding.
Andrea got her braces with the money she received from her 15th birthday because this was her main goal. She always had some insecurities about her teeth, although the problem was not so serious.
In the first consultations she had her teeth cleaned and they worked on the lower cavities, which were quite a lot.
We got up very early to leave the house at 9:00 a.m. since we had to be at the office at 10:00 a.m.
Salimos a las 9:00 a.m de la casa y tomamos un carrito hasta el Centro que es donde se ubica el consultorio.
Al llegar nos quedamos en una vía principal y debemos caminar una cuadra para llegar hasta donde está el consultorio.
El consultorio se llama ''Smile'' y prácticamente es una casa con ciertas modificaciones.
Andrea fue la primera en entrar y tomamos asiento, teníamos dos personas por delante, así que nos tocaba esperar a que las personas fueran atendidas y nos tocara a nosotros.
We left the house at 9:00 a.m. and took a trolley to the center, where the office is located.
When we arrive we are on a main road and we have to walk one block to get to the office.
The office is called ''Smile'' and it is practically a house with some modifications.
Andrea was the first to enter and we took a seat, we had two people ahead of us, so we had to wait for the people to be attended and then it was our turn.
La asistente dental le facilitó a Andrea la caja con las ligas de colores, estas ligas son las que se colocan en los brackets y se utilizan dos tipos dependiendo lo que se quiera trabajar.
A Andrea por el momento solo le colocan ligas separadas. La asistente la dejó escoger antes de entrar al consultorio para adelantar el proceso ya que la elección del color suele ser lo más largo en toda la consulta, las personas suelen tardar en elegir el color que acompañará a su dentadura por el período de un mes.
The dental assistant gave Andrea the box with the colored rubber bands, these bands are the ones that are placed on the brackets and two types are used depending on what they want to work on.
At the moment Andrea only has separate rubber bands placed on her brackets. The assistant let her choose before entering the office to advance the process since the choice of color is usually the longest in the entire consultation, people usually take a month to choose the color that will accompany their teeth.
Después de mucho esperar el turno de Andrea llegó, la sentaron en el sillón y lo primero que hicieron fue trabajar 2 caries en el cuadrante superior. Andrea tiene bastantes caries ya que nunca se había realizado limpiezas dentales ni había asistido al dentista.
El proceso con sus caries ha sido largo, pues solo se le trabajan 2 por cita. Trabajar muchas es difícil porque la persona tiene que durar mucho rato con la boca abierta y suele ser doloroso.
El consultorio de la Doctora es pequeño, yo caminé hacia el otro lado del sillón para poder tomar las fotos y una esquina llamó mi atención pues tenía peluches y plantas acomodadas muy bonitas.
After a long wait Andrea's turn came, they sat her in the chair and the first thing they did was to work on 2 cavities in the upper quadrant. Andrea has quite a few cavities since she had never had dental cleanings or been to the dentist before.
The process with her cavities has been a long one, as she only has 2 cavities worked on per appointment. Working on many of them is difficult because the person has to spend a lot of time with their mouth open and it is usually painful.
The doctor's office is small, I walked to the other side of the chair to take pictures and one corner caught my attention because it had stuffed animals and plants arranged very nicely.
La consulta de Andrea terminó, me mostró su ortodoncia y noté que había escogido un color rosa que sinceramente no me gustó mucho pero, para gustos los colores.
Por fin podíamos regresar a casa.
Caminamos nuevamente hasta la Avenida principal y tomamos un carrito que nos llevaría hasta nuestro hogar.
La doctora le asignó cita a Andrea para el mes de mayo y yo me anoté de forma no segura porque quiero recuperar mi tratamiento para tratar por fin de finalizarlo pero todo depende de mi economía para ese tiempo.
Y bueno chicos, esa fue toda nuestra aventura con el dentista.

Andrea's consultation ended, she showed me her braces and I noticed that she had chosen a pink color that I honestly didn't like very much but, to each his own.
Finally we could go back home.
We walked back to the main avenue and took a trolley that would take us to our home.
The doctor assigned Andrea an appointment for the month of May and I signed up unsure because I want to recover my treatment to finally try to finish it but it all depends on my economy for that time.
And well guys, that was our whole adventure with the dentist.

Las visitas al odontólogo no siempre son agradables, pero si es por el bien de los dientes y de sus dueños entonces podría decir que nada mejor que empezar el día con una visita al dentista :D
Limpiar los dientes es muy importante, al igual que tener una hermosa sonrisa con los dientes alineados ;)
