¡Hola Chicos!
Durante los últimos meses han pasado muchas cosas y no les he contado como han sido mis clases en el nuevo espacio así que voy a irles contando desde el inicio. En otra oportunidad les hablaré de la mudanza porque es algo que quiero hacer bien y al momento de redactar este post estoy algo apuradita porque debo ir a dar clases.
Para las clases, la semana inicia los días martes, pero esa primera semana mi esposo me dijo que mejor me organizara bien e iniciara el miércoles. Veníamos saliendo de la galería y la mudanza la hicimos el día sábado. Aún nos faltaba arreglar varias cositas del local, pero yo no quería darme una semana libre porque era un momento crucial. Estábamos en temporada escolar y esto podía ocasionar que se salieran algunos alumnos (ya lo estaba viviendo 😔).
Así que al día siguiente me fui solita al local, el día anterior había llovido con mucho viento y cuando llegué al local me encontré con una sorpresita.

A lot has happened over the past few months, and I haven't told you how my classes have been in the new space, so I'll tell you from the beginning. I'll tell you about the move another time because it's something I want to do right, and at the time of writing this post, I'm in a bit of a hurry because I have to go teach.
For classes, the week starts on Tuesday, but that first week my husband told me to get organized and start on Wednesday. We were just leaving the gallery, and we moved in on Saturday. We still had a few things to fix in the space, but I didn't want to take a week off because it was a crucial time. It was the school year, and this could cause some students to leave (I was already experiencing that 😔).
So the next day I went to the space alone. The day before, it had rained and was very windy, and when I arrived, I found a little surprise.

Al momento de esta foto ya había secado el agua, solo estaba algo húmedo el suelo. De ahí me fui hasta la tienda Luna Market a hacer mi primera compra con Cashea, de esto les hablé en un post el mes pasado.
Water had entered the store through the front door. I found a large puddle of water, which I had to dry immediately.

Ese día el tiempo me estaba jugando en contra porque la clase comenzaba a la 1 y yo me había ido sin almorzar. Así que luego de hacer mi compra me detuve en un restaurant que suelo visitar para comprar una hamburguesa y así podría tener la energía suficiente para la clase.
That day, time was against me because class started at 1:00, and I hadn't had lunch. So after shopping, I stopped at a restaurant I frequent to buy a burger so I could have enough energy for class.
Luego de comer acomodé las cosas para estar lista y comenzar mi jornada laboral. Estaba súper feliz porque era la primera vez que daría clases en mi espacio propio y era un logro ENORME, a pesar de que aún faltaban varias cositas.
After eating, I got things ready to start my workday. I was incredibly happy because it was the first time I'd be teaching in my own space, and it was a HUGE accomplishment, even though there were still a few things left to do.
No ve lo van a creer, pero 10 minutos antes de iniciar la clase se fue la electricidad. Me iba a morir jajajaja cuando le conté a mi esposo me dijo "¿viste que no tenías que dar clases?".
Me quedé esperando un rato con la esperanza de que volviera, ya que en ocasiones anteriores se ha ido la luz y vuelve en cuestión de minutos. Es muy raro que en el centro de la ciudad se nos vaya la electricidad porque hay muchos negocios y los horarios de los cortes eléctricos mayormente son nocturnos.
Así que me senté a esperar, sin agitarme mucho para que no me diera calor. Mientras tanto le estaba enviando a los representantes para que estuvieran al tanto de la situación.
En eso llegó una de las alumnas de crochet que no había leído el grupo, y para que no perdiera el viaje nos pusimos a trabajar sentaditas en la parte de adelante del local, que era donde estaba más iluminado.
Así se pasó la hora y ella logró terminar el proyecto que tenía pendiente.
You'll never believe it, but 10 minutes before the class was due to start, the power went out. I was about to die, hahaha. When I told my husband, he said, "Did you see that you didn't have to teach?"
I waited for a while, hoping it would come back on, since the power has gone out before and comes back on in a matter of minutes. It's very rare for our power to go out in the city center because there are so many businesses, and the power outages are mostly at night.
So I sat down to wait, not getting too agitated so I wouldn't get too hot. Meanwhile, I was sending the representatives so they would be up to date on the situation.
Just then, one of the crochet students who hadn't read the group arrived, and so she wouldn't waste her trip, we sat down at the front of the shop, where it was best lit.
That's how the hour passed, and she managed to finish the project she had pending.
Habían pasado como dos horas desde que se había ido la electricidad así que en definitiva tocaba suspender la clase del siguiente turno. Les pasé un mensaje a todos y le envié al señor con el que suelo venirme a casa.
Al salir me di cuenta que la mayoría de los negocios de mi piso estaban cerrados, y es que todos trabajamos con la electricidad, no había forma de continuar el día así.
Me tocó esperar un poco hasta que por fin llegó el señor y pude regresar a casa. El día no fue del todo perdido porque pude hacer la compra y al menos una de las alumnas asistió, así que lo tomaremos con un buen día, a pesar de las circunstancias.
Acá es imposible saber que días pasará esto, y lo importante es tomar todo con la mejor actitud y ver de que forma se le puede sacar provecho a este tipo de situaciones.

It had been about two hours since the power went out, so it was time to cancel the next class. I messaged everyone and the man I usually come to my house with.
When I left, I realized that most of the businesses on my floor were closed. We all work with electricity, so there was no way to continue the day like this.
I had to wait a bit until the man finally arrived and I was able to return home. The day wasn't entirely lost because I was able to do my shopping, and at least one of the students showed up, so we'll take it as a day, despite the circumstances.
It's impossible to know which days this will happen, and the important thing is to take everything with the best attitude and see how we can take advantage of these types of situations.
