VERSIÓN EN ESPAÑOL
Saludos amig@s, el día de hoy, viernes 16 de junio del 2023, me recuerda el viaje que realicé con mi mamá el 30 de octubre del 2022 a Colombia.
El día está lluvioso, frío y a la vez con mucha humedad, cosa loca esta.
Ese viaje se convirtió en una fuerte experiencia. Iniciamos nuestra ruta por avión desde Maturín hasta Caracas y desde Caracas hasta el aeropuerto de San Domingo, Estado Táchira, llegando allí a la 01:40 pm, por cierto, con mucha lluvia.
Tomamos un taxi que nos llevó a la frontera con Colombia, o sea, al puente Simón Bolívar; allí tuve que pasar caminando con mi mamá y el equipaje, por cierto, es una distancia bastante larga para que una persona mayor como mi mamá la transite a pie y menos con la condición de salud que tiene como lo es la artritis. Gracias a Dios pasamos sin problema, extrañadas que los guardias solo nos pidieron mostrar la cédula tanto de ida como de retorno.
Al estar en tierra colombiana tomamos otro taxi que nos llevó hasta el aeropuerto de Cúcuta para tomar vuelo a Bogotá, gracias a Dios y nuestro señor Jesucristo los tiempos nos dieron y a las 9 de la noche de ese día estábamos en Bogotá, súper cansadas pero con los objetivos logrados, por lo menos, de llegar a Bogotá.
La razón de ese viaje fue acompañar a mi mamá a solicitar su visa americana para que pudiera viajar a Houston, Texas, a visitar a mi hermana menor, ya que tenía 8 años que no veía a su hija.
Los dos primeros días salimos del aparta hotel solo a comprar comida y el tercer día fue la primera cita, en la cual, le realizaron el chequeo biométrico en el área de conecta, allí estuvimos todo el día porque la hora de las citas no se estaban respetando, mi mamá tenía cita para las 11 de la mañana y la llamaron a las 2 de la tarde, agotador.
Siguiendo el proceso cuatro días más tarde tuvo la cita en la propia embajada de los Estados Unidos de Norte América. Le realizaron la entrevista y le aprobaron su visa por 10 años, de allí salimos muy contentas a esperar que enviaran un correo donde indicaban la agencia de DHL a dónde enviarían la visa para poder retirarla, hasta allí, todo estuvo bien.
Pasaban los días y mi mamá empezaba a impacientarse porque no llegaba ningún correo, aprovechamos a visitar algunos lugares públicos muy bonitos como la plaza Bolívar y la zona céntrica de Bogotá, zona comercial donde compramos detalles a muy buenos precios. Sin embargo, Bogotá definitivamente tiene unos centros comerciales muy modernos con tiendas de marcas reconocidas, la mercancía que ofrecen es de excelente calidad y muy bonita.
Nos costó adaptarnos a la comida porque son sabores muy diferentes, nuestra comida es más sazonada y considero más variada. Pasados los 21 días llegó el correo donde indicaban que debíamos ir a retirar la visa en la oficina de DHL de Chía, no sabíamos por supuesto donde quedaba. Tuvimos que tomar un taxi, con el cual pasamos prácticamente el día en carretera, el ir y venir, pero finalmente mi mamá pudo retirar su documento para regresarnos a nuestra tierra al día siguiente.
Nuevamente, realizamos la travesía por avión porque los pasajes estaban comprados por escala, Bogotá - Cúcuta, pasamos el puente caminando y ya en Táchira tomamos un taxi hasta una posada para descansar y al día siguiente tomamos vuelo Santo Domingo - Caracas, Caracas - Maturín, un alivio cuando llegamos a nuestra tierra victoriosas jajaja.
Una semana después, mi mamá el 01 de diciembre del 2022 estaba tomando vuelo Maturín Caracas, Caracas - México y México - Houston Texas, encontrándose felizmente con mi hermana y su familia.

Greetings friends, today, Friday, June 16, 2023, reminds me of the trip I made with my mom on October 30, 2022 to Colombia.
The day is rainy, cold and at the same time very humid, crazy thing this.
That trip became a strong experience. We started our route by plane from Maturin to Caracas and from Caracas to the airport of San Domingo, Tachira State, arriving there at 01:40 pm, by the way, with a lot of rain.
We took a cab that took us to the border with Colombia, that is, to the Simon Bolivar Bridge; there I had to walk with my mom and the luggage, by the way, it is quite a long distance for an elderly person like my mom to walk it and even less with the health condition she has such as arthritis. Thank God we got through without any problem. We were surprised that the guards only asked us to show our identification card both going and returning.
Once in Colombia we took another cab that took us to the Cucuta airport to take a flight to Bogota, thanks to God and our Lord Jesus Christ the times were right and at 9 pm that night we were in Bogota, super tired but with the objectives achieved, at least, to get to Bogota.
The reason for this trip was to accompany my mom to apply for her American visa so she could travel to Houston, Texas, to visit my younger sister, since she had not seen her daughter for 8 years.
The first two days we left the aparthotel just to buy food and the third day was the first appointment, in which she had the biometric check in the area of connects, we were there all day because the appointment times were not being respected, my mom had an appointment for 11 in the morning and they called her at 2 in the afternoon, exhausting.
Following the process, four days later she had her appointment at the U.S. Embassy itself. She had the interview and they approved her visa for 10 years, from there we left very happy to wait for them to send an email indicating the DHL agency where they would send the visa to be able to pick it up, until then, everything was fine.
Days went by and my mom started to get impatient because no mail was arriving, we took the opportunity to visit some very nice public places like Plaza Bolivar and the downtown area of Bogota, shopping area where we bought details at very good prices. However, Bogota definitely has some very modern shopping malls with stores of recognized brands, the merchandise they offer is of excellent quality and very nice.
It was hard for us to adapt to the food because they are very different flavors, our food is more seasoned and I consider more varied. After 21 days the mail arrived indicating that we had to go to pick up the visa at the DHL office in Chia, of course we did not know where it was. We had to take a cab, with which we spent practically the whole day on the road, going back and forth, but finally my mom was able to pick up her document to return to our land the next day.
Again, we made the trip by plane because the tickets were bought by stopover, Bogota - Cucuta, we passed the bridge walking and already in Tachira we took a cab to an inn to rest and the next day we took flight Santo Domingo - Caracas, Caracas - Maturin, a relief when we arrived to our land victorious hahaha.
A week later, my mom on December 01, 2022 was taking flight Maturin Caracas, Caracas - Mexico and Mexico - Houston Texas, happily meeting my sister and her family.
