As everyone has been so busy over the last couple of years, with the girls we nearly have forgotten how important it is to also have some quality girl time. You know like back in the days. No agendas, no babies who need their naps at a certain time so we need to go home, no dudes who are already finished with the dumb conversations about whatever what comes to mind.
Proper girl and gossip time. For a while now we have make it a more regular thing in meeting up every couple of weeks, and it seemed to be easier than we had expected to organize and make it happen. And also, it is a lot more valuable than we realize.
Because apart from being moms and housemanagers and businessladies, somewhere in the back we are still the girls with their opinions and their stuff that is going on. And those girls also deserve more attention.
We dragged ourselves out on this sunny day towards the legendary 'Stadsbrouwerij' in the city of Eindhoven and went for a couple of good ones. The stadsbrouwerij is a bit of a jack of all trades. It is a big brewery where the infamous bran of 100 watt beer line comes from. The 100 watt refers to that Eindhoven is also called the city of light, because the Philips lighting headquarters used to be here. 100 watt has a really decent line with all kinds of beers with also my favorite 'Orchestra of Angels' (but that is sometimes a bit too much of a banger for a regular day haha)
Recently 100 watt has partnered up with the brewery of the city of Tilburg and also the 'van Mol'brewery to expand their brand called 'Lighttown brewers'. I guess those guys will go a lot bigger so you might catch them here or there in foreign places as well.
A whole lot of everything
The stadsbrouwerij (city brewery) is not only a brewery but it is also a bar, and outdoor terrace, a bits and bites restaurant and a venue where you can rent a small space for something. At some days they even have a DJ playing there to turn up the vibe.
Especially when the weather is perfect for some outdoor setting that is when this place is fantastic, sitting outside, having a check on what is all passing by and having a talk about life with an occasional beer on the side. Love it!
And also the food here is all what you hope for, they have a good range on burgers from all sorts but we always all love these bites where everyone can all snack along. The newest of what you always find now here in the Netherlands (which is the first year that I have noticed this) is that everything is pimped with this small edible flowers. Super easy to grow and big effect on there.
I remained to a 5.2% beer called 'Witte Dame' (white lady) which is a whitebeer which is super subtle and easy to digest even thought it only gets a 3 out of 5 on Ratebeer.com
Regardless of all beers and snacks....the whole idea of hanging out with the ladies is important. In these kinds of settings a lot more comes to the table than you would have in a regular conversation.
And that is why you should have some beers on the terrace just a bit more. Love it!
Now those are pints of the week!
What better use of time while enjoying a beautiful beer than visiting with friends for company and conversation? The White Lady seems like the perfect brew for that as well.
I think I need me some more girl time too!
Hahaha we always need more girl time hahahaa. But indeed, nothing better than a nice beer here and there with some good company!
