RE: English and Scottish Beers

in BEERlast month

Haha well this is a Canadain Brewery trying to do...something...not sure what though. Other than marketing I don't know why they chose the name. Online it says that the beer is a "Dortmunder export" style of beer. is that a Scottish thing?

Sort:

I have never heard of a Dortmunder export type of beer. Sounds like they are at it 🤣

Okay I looked it up and this is what Wikipedia says

Dortmunder Export or Dortmunder is a pale lager originally brewed by Dortmunder Union in Dortmund, Germany, in 1873. It is a soft-textured beer influenced by the Pilsner lager brewed in Pilsen.

Soooo, it's a Canadian beer, mimicking a German Pils, with a Scottish name...

It's like: "what are you trying to accomplish here.. other than confusion?" That's the problem when your country doesn't have any culture of its own - it tries to take from everyone else's culture and fucks it up royally every time.

I do like the can imagery though 😆
