#BeerSaturday - The Finest Three Pairs of Life - Beer, Monsoon Rain and Food

It's Saturday today, another holiday and break from my office work. I decided to go to the hilltop to grab some beer and some nice view. Monsoon had already started here in Nepal and it's hardly a day in a week that I can see the Sun in the sky. We went to Jhor Mahankal Resort. It's actually located in Kathmandu but it's purely a village area free from pollution and dust.

I grabbed the cold beer and looked at the view of beautiful Kathmandu valley. It was said in the ancient time Kathmandu valley was actually a huge lake and a god named Manjushree cut the gorge with sword at Chovar to drain out the water from the valley. I don't to what extent may this be true but there's a gorge at Chovar that was actually been cut down and that drains the water out from the valley.

It looks like rain is going to cover the valley and the hilltop soon, while you can see the weather is sunny in some part of the valley as in the picture.

Time to grab another cold beer and have some food.

My friend ordered French Fries because its his favorite snack while having a beer.

Well here's my favorite snack for beer, Chicken Chilli.

Kathmandu valley is already covered in the rain as it's monsoon.

And here it goes, it rains where I am currently at. It's important that rain occured in this area because during Monsoon, farmer relies on the rain for the irrigation purpose. They wait for month hoping for monsoon rain to arrive. As digging canal to irrigate the land and crops is extremely difficult, they rely on monsoon rain. But the heavy rainfall with hailstorm can sometimes prove curse for them when their crops get destroyed.
