For this weekend's #beersaturday fun, I noticed a new Stone Brewery offering in the area while standing in line at the grocery store to check out. I had not heard of this one before, but upon further inspection, I noticed a great fill date:

And of course, decided to give it a go!

This one is a little bit stronger, coming in at 6.7% ABV. The can also includes a nice description of what exactly the Stone group was attempting to do with this beer.

So what do I think of this beer? It's good; it's solid. There are no off-tastes, no green beer notes, and no funky corn syrup hangover tones on the taste buds. It's a good beer...but... it's a boring beer, to be honest. It's clean, fresh, and not a bad beer by any means...it's just sort of ho-hum. Boring.

Maybe it's all of the Toppling I've been drinking of late, but this literally is a quite boring beer. The nose is fine, you can't taste the alcohol, but there isn't a lot of things about it making my taste buds go crazy. One second, let me get another one here and try more of it...

Yeah still boring, but I can feel the booze a bit. I really like my hazy IPAs to pack a hop bunch, but this isn't it. So what am I doing while I work through a few of these tonight? Library books!

I haven't been to a public library since COVID; I know, it's awful. Today I wanted to find some books on Wisconsin and local history. The first one, above, looks like a great read and a fun guide for future Hive posts.

The other book is a history of the city I live in:

That's the bluff I try to hike every morning in the background. Of course, that area is all homes now, but that farmhouse on the right is still standing. No doubt haunted, I'm sure...

The other photos of interest is the city itself as seen from the Mississippi River more than 100 years ago:

More material to dig through for some future adventures, no doubt.

Hoping everyone is having a wonderful Saturday too; my Brewers lost today, but the Packers are on tomorrow. Let's go Packers...I need a win after today's Brewer loss. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my new beer. Until next weekend...

Cheers! The boring beer is still a solution to reading an interesting book! 😎 🍻

!BEER

Oh yeah, we're old fashioned over here, lol!

It's a drinking !BEER, you don't have to think to much about it but you know it'll be good and refreshing and perfectly fine.

Definitely...a stronger session beer, I would guess. Although 6 of these would maybe knock me out on the couch on a Saturday night. Maybe...
