For this #beersaturday share, I found a NA IPA at the local co op while getting some food for lunch. This is week number one of the "cleanse." So far, so good, although while dealing with the inlaws this long, holiday weekend, I saw a Chilis in downtown Evanston that I wanted to sneak away to. To get a Half Acre or some other type of Chicago beer in before heading back to another round of "family fun."

Alas, I withstood the craving... hooray!!!

This is a fresh beer from a brewery located in Maryland Heights, Missouri. THe head brewmaster had quit drinking in the 2010's, and from what I've read online, he grew tired of always drinking "diet Coke."

This is a pretty good beer. The hop bill includes Citra and Mosiac hops. For a non-alcoholic IPA, this is pretty darn good. I've had NAs in the past, and most of them taste like very malty or wort-esqe beverages. This one is very smooth and has a solid aftertaste. Not overly hoppy, but it definitely tastes better than Busch...

So what am I going to do tonight now that I'm forgoing my favorite beverage? First and foremost, I made some sourdough toast with butter and pepper jack cheese on top.

That'll do it after a week of Thanksgiving leftovers. I also got a couple of books delivered to start reading tonight.

The Red Lion is an old, Gnostic fiction piece that I recently learned of on a podcast. The Creature from Jekyll Island is a book I've been wanting to read forever. It's the story of thw US Federal Reserve and the nonsense of what it truly means. I can't wait to read both of them (good thing I'm not drinking until next year, lol).

That's it for this week's share. Thanks for reading, and wish me luck as I move on to week number two.
