Greetings, dear Hivians! How's everyone doing?
Today I'm talking about a special beer of a Brazilian craft brewery located in the most German city in Brazil – a small town called Pomerode, located in the state of Santa Catarina, Southern Brazil – called "Schornstein". Its name means "chimney" in German, because of the building's architecture – the factory is based in a historic heritage of the city, whose building has a famous 30 meters tall chimney, which has become the symbol of the brewery.
As one can see, Schornstein's slogan is "a cerveja com alma", which means "a beer with soul".
¡Saludos, queridos hivians!
Schornstein Chocolate com Pimenta is actually a collaboration between the brewery itself and the chocolate brand, also from Pomerode, called Nugali. This beer was created for a local gastronomic festival that, due to its success, later became part of the brand's official catalog. Just like it says on the label, this beer won two medals – a bronze in 2019 and a silver in 2020 – in two different national beer contests.
Since it's a special beer, it wasn't so easy to find – actually I've been looking for it for a while and finally I could find it for about $20 BRL ($4 USD approximately).

Schornstein Chocolate com Pimenta follows the same recipe as their traditional bock beer, with the addition of cacao nibs and habanero pepper extract. It has a percentage of 7% ABV and 25 IBU. When poured into the glass, it displays a ruby-brown liquid with a light-beige irregular foam of medium to low persistence, with a soft carbonation. The sweet malt aroma is very present, as well as the caramel, chocolate and cacao fragrances. The same goes for the taste, however, the cacao taste is less intense than its smell.

And then, after the third sip approximately, I could taste the pepper gradually showing up, leaving a clear spiciness that became more and more accentuated with each gulp – until it became considerably strong. Although I'm not a fan of spicy flavors, I really enjoyed drinking this beer and, believe me, the spiciness was the highlight of all the gustative experience – even with the pepper attenuating the cacao hints as you drink it.
I'd say its drinkability is low due to the spiciness, specially because the spicy aftertaste isn't for the weak of stomach, haha – but it doesn't last too long as I was expecting. In the end, the overall experience was really good. Schornstein Chocolate com Pimenta is ideal for colder days, in my opinion – although there's no bad time when it comes to drinking a beer though.
And you, what do you think about spicy beers? Have you already tasted one? Or have you already tasted any Schornstein beer? Let me know in the comments.

Dear @zombialien, we need your help!
The Hivebuzz proposal already got important support from the community. However, it lost its funding a few days ago when the HBD stabilizer proposal rose above it.
May we ask you to support it so our team can continue its work?
