Hello my dear Hivers from this wonderful community @hiveph. How are you all doing? I hope you are all safe and well. Accomplish all you have to finish for the day and continue learning with each thing you do.
That's what I did yesterday. I am a teacher but everyday I'm also learning from my learners. But yesterday wass extra special. As as I say never stop learning.
Every year, the Department of Education has this initiative to continually provide teachers with the recent updates in education. The initiative is called In-service training for teachers. Each year we have different themes and learning area to focus.
For this year the facilitators chose the importance of Modern Teaching Methods. I was expecting to see similar faces from last year's Inset. But to my surprise the clustering was changed. We have new schools with us in our cluster. This means new faces to mingle for our 3-day seminar.
I specially like the main theme for this year's INSET. I think this is a very timely, I mean every topic is timely but this is something that will really make our classes easier and more effective. I think having technology and integrating it in the classroom the right way is very critical in today's 21st century education era.
I learned so many ideas like how I will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of my teaching. I realized I still have strategies that are actually highly traditional and needs some updating. I mean I'm using technology in my classroom butni still have lots to learn like how to maximize it's use to make more meaningful experiences for my learners.
Of course the activity was not solely a discussion event. We also had some dancing in between to awaken our nerves.
I really enjoyed dancing as it eneregizes me from sitting most of the time.
We also participated in the activities from each speaker. I loved the message relay we had but sadly I didn't have a photo of it since I was the one who relayed the message from the speaker to my teammates.
I also loved the case analysis we had. I appreciate the teamwork we have in our group. Everyone shared whatever they knew and collectively we had a perfect output.
We also made lesson plans for the two sessions in the afternoon. It was about integrating active learning and differentiated instruction. We have to make activities that will reflect in the lesson plans we made. It was not easy but I enjoyed listening to my colleagues opinions and ideas. It made the experience more meaningful. In some way we were actually already employing some 21st century skills we have to teach our learners in the classroom setting.
Indeed, I learned so much from yesterday's seminar. Everything were substantial to better my teaching methodologies for a better learning and learning experience of my learners.
The next seminar will be on the next Friday of the coming week. I forgot to tell you the seminar is good for 3 days. That's 3 consecutive Fridays. So there's 2 more Fridays to go and I'm excited for another learning that I will get from it.
