Hey Hivers!
Last August, I had a great experience along with my Kythe family as we successfully launched our first Kythe Munting Sining event.
Munting Sining is an Art auction and Thanksgiving event. It was established in 2021 through the efforts of Mr. William, one of the Kythe board trustees and a long-time supporter of Kythe. His deep encounters with Kythe children inspired him to initiate an art workshop project for a patient named Hannah, who often expressed her gratitude by gifting him her artwork. From this inspiration, and after a series of discussions with the child life and communication team, the name "Munting Sining" was born, reflecting the beauty and sincerity of the thoughts of Kythe patients and survivors.
The first online workshop was facilitated by Ate Jem, a volunteer leader and artist at that time. The artworks created by the patients were envisioned to be auctioned, in line with Sir William's vision of raising funds for Kythe beneficiaries.

In 2025, this vision finally came to life, coinciding with the meaningful celebration of Sir William's birthday in August. The proceeds of Munting Sining will benefit the emergency needs of Kythe patients, a cause close to Sir William's heart.
Sir William is the one who wears a blue polo shirt.
The event was held at Villa Milagros Rodriguez, Rizal, and it was sponsored by Miss Hanah, also a Kythe volunteer.
Preparation:
Kythe staff and volunteers prepared everything to make this event successful. From logistics to decorating to artwork display, one of my duties is to look for kids and assist VIPs for a possible art bid.
We also provide an art space for the kids who are present on that day for their art activity.
The Kids were so busy doing their artwork while the event was happening, which made the guests and vip's more interested in art bidding.
These are the artworks available for bidding, and all of them were created with passion and love by those Kythe Survivors. All of them suffered and were diagnosed with cancer a few years ago, and now they are cancer-free and living a normal life.
The bidding starts with Rainbow cutting with our special guests and also kythe sponsors.
We have the Kythe executives, Ninog Ry, Ms. Hana, and Mr. Piolo Pascual to officially start the Munting Sining Art Auction.
A lot of guests show interest in every artwork, every minute our booth receives a bidding sheet, and it was really a good sign.
While the kids are busy with their artworks, Michael Pangilinan performed and serenaded the guests, especially the kids.
I was amazed and starstruck because I'm his avid fan and didn't expect to get to close to him lol, but of course I shouldn't lose my composure, need to focus on my task and with children.
Mr.Piolo Pascual gives an inspirational message for everyone, and tells us how he became a Kythe ambassador and official sponsor. I was so moved by his message; he's truly an inspiration, also Immortal LOL (He's not getting old) one of my fave artists of all time.
Ninong Ry cried while giving his message. He just realized how unfortunate those kids are, that's why he pledged and promised to give support to Kythe; He's an influencer with over a million followers and subscribers, and now he's using his platform to promote Kythe and give back with no hesitation. Salute to this man!
Before the auction ended, I was surprised when the host announced that all of the artworks had been sold, and we reached a million, which we didn't expect.
I wish that those bidders be blessed more; the proceedings will be a big help for the patients and parents, and every artwork sold saves a kid's life.
I'm so grateful to be part of this Munting Sining event as a person who loves art. I do appreciate every master pieces that was created with a deep, deep meaning. I noticed that all of the artworks were so meaningful and anchored by their illness, which makes it more priceless.
That's all for me, thank you everyone for dropping by :)
Also want to give credit to our photography partner, Nice Print Photography, who captured photos that I've used, and to the Kythe Foundation for allowing me to publish this story.
