A Tired, But a Week Full of Learning

in Hive PH9 days ago

For today's blog, I want to share my experience from last week, which was one of the most hectic and stressful weeks of my academic career.

It all started when I realized that while preparing for the Sumobot competition, I had missed nearly all my activities in each class and only had one week to catch up. The days flew by, especially since it was also exam week, leaving me little time to review for any of my tests.

I began with my Chemistry assignments, where I had missed two activities and two quizzes due to being absent on Monday and Tuesday. To make matters worse, that very same week was when our first exam took place. On the first exam day, we had Practical Research, which focused on ethics and was one of the easiest exams this quarter. I also had my UCSP exam, which covered various ideologies in the Philippines. Lastly, I faced one of my worst performances in the Physics exam.

I studied Physics from 1 AM to 5 AM without any sleep, but I still failed. The issue was that I focused solely on computations instead of understanding the underlying concepts, which were the primary focus of the exam questions.

I was too tired to comply to my missing activities that day so I just went home, took a nap and continued to finish my missing activities.

Upon waking up, I started preparing for my second day of exams, which included Philosophy, Filipino, and EAPP (English). I found Philosophy and Filipino quite manageable, but I struggled with English, which required a deep understanding of specific terms and situations. Although I hadn't reviewed much, I answered most test questions confidently. Following the exam, I began working on my English activity, which involved finding books and creating citations. I visited our local library to take pictures of the available books and newspapers.

After returning home, I took a four-hour rest and then dedicated another four hours to studying for the quizzes I had missed, which included UCSP, Practical Research, and Chemistry. Our final day included exams for PE and Chemistry. Since we were exempted, I didn’t review much for the Chemistry exam but still prepared for the quiz. That day was particularly overwhelming, as I had a headache while trying to complete all my outstanding quizzes.

Throughout that challenging week, I realized that no matter how difficult things get, it's essential to keep pushing forward and not give up. I still have a few activities left to finish today, but I’m grateful we were given time to complete them by next week. It has allowed me to rest and recuperate. I want to conclude by encouraging everyone to persevere, no matter what challenges come your way.
