UPDATE: LIFE AS A SENIOR HIGH STEM STUDENT📚✍️

in Hive PH3 months ago

Hello everyone! It's been a while. How's life lately? I apologize for my long hiatus, probably more than 2 months since my last upload. I missed blogging in this community, especially the part where I read your blogs and comments too. For now, let me share with y'all how my life changed—that I am now one of the seniors in our school.

Being called "seniors" or the "ate's and kuya's" in our school is not easy. Especially that you have to act like the role model for the other lower grade levels. My first struggle just before the school year began is that I have to choose a specific strand that can really help me or serve as my guide in picking my college course.

Choosing a strand that fits your potential is not easy for me since I couldn't really process what skills I have. Though I have a dream course that can be a reference to what strand I should take, it was a big help, but because of the distrust that the people I loved gave, I began having self-doubts about whether I should choose to be practical or just chase what I really want. So I chose STEM, since I believe that if I can't pursue my dream course and job, this strand will lead me to something.

The first week of class was indeed exhausting; my body was used to sleeping late and waking up at 10 a.m. on vacation, so basically my body clock got destroyed, and I had a hard time setting it back on the first week. But because of the constant changes, my body is now used to sleeping early and waking up at 5am just to get ready for school, which is a good thing.

(I even got assigned to report on the 2nd week already🥲)

We were given so many projects, and one of them is filming. I was hesitant at first to be the main character, but because of their persuasion, I accepted it for the sake of our grades. I wasn't even expecting that I would get praise for being the best actress in our section since I thought my acting skills weren't that impressive. Still, I'm glad to experience that moment.

We were currently editing our scenes here, and out of nowhere this random black butterfly appears on the wall. I got so excited that I took a picture of it. Butterflies are one of my favorite creatures in this world.

A glimpse of our hell weeks in senior high because we are struggling to solve the problems that our teacher gave without even trying to discuss how to do it 😭. So here we are, brainstorming and helping each other with the solutions before the tests and activities start.

I am mentally laughing in my mind sometimes because they are so cute and funny trying to doodle or rant their feelings towards general mathematics and pre-calculus on the board after every test. But they would eventually erase it just before another subject begins.

Our school quadrangle is still under construction for a new court, so it's kind of hard going back and forth to my other friends rooms just to see them. Thus, the construction site was kind of blocking my favorite view back in junior high, where I used to watch students mind their own business from a floors building or just around the corner of the quadrangle.

Another challenging project from our subject, General Biology, was to make a model of plant and animal cells where the class was divided into two. It was challenging for us because we have to use recyclable materials to make our models. We planned everything well, and even though we encountered many difficulties, we still managed to make it by working together.

One of our struggles last month was that every after class the DLBC band starts practicing and the drums, trumpets, and lyre are so loud that we sometimes end up shouting just to hear each other's conversation. It was quite chaotic, but we have to endure it because we understand their side; we do appreciate their efforts just to give us a better performance on the upcoming intramurals.

Well, even if we aren't classmates anymore with my circle, we still find ways to bond with each other despite the busy schedule. We often wait for one another just to go home together. Walking to the highway with them while chatting just feels wholesome. Knowing that these moments wouldn't last forever, I might as well treasure each moment that I have with them.

My life as a STEM student is both enjoyable and stressful. Enjoyable because I got to experience new things, and I am also happy that I am at this phase of my life now. Yet stressful, because we are all adjusting and balancing our academic life with our social life. We have to manage our time efficiently and know our priorities, especially now that we have to be careful with our grades for the sake of the scholarships that we may get once we graduate senior high.

This school year will indeed be challenging for every student since they've been taking further steps for their future. But let us all remember how to take a breath once everything is so overwhelming. Be proud of yourself and do your best. To my fellow students, PADAYON! 🤍

I'd definitely pursue it if fate will allow me 🥰. Thank you for reading ng blog!

I think if it's me I'll have a hard time choosing what's strand to take. We don't have that back in the day, but if we did, I think I'll choose STEM too. But why do I feel like it won't be easy too. I have ideas about Technology, but the rest, OMG poor me. Lolol. Anyways good luck being a senior. Enjoy ot too while having a hard time there 😆😆💪

I don't know if I'll envy you that you haven't experience getting extra 2 years in secondary school or I'll be happy that I got to experience this😭. Anyways, thank you! I'm really enjoying at some point but most of the time I just wanna cry because of the school works haha.

You should really be happy about that, you can get to work na ata just finishing senior right? Even without going into college? Not sure. But fighting palagi 🤗💪

Just enjoy each moment being a student and keep fighting. Soon, it will all be worth the hard work 😊

Well, I do hope that I'm on the right track though 🥲. But thank you for your advice! I appreciate it.
