Sorry but how are legal issues any of our issues? If they want they can send DMCA's to the front-ends. He sourced the images in his post which is kind of community consensus, it's not like the community go out of their way to check if all images are fair use or not, I'm sure I've used images in the past that weren't as long as the post isn't mainly about the images like this one. Seems like you're exaggerating asking for downvotes on an account based on something I'm sure many of us do.

A wave of plagiarism is coming, as long as they put source links to pages that for the most part, do not allow the reproduction of their content, following the recommendation of your comment. And all hiding behind fair use.

All because:

community consensus

And because:

I'm sure many of us do.

What does this have anything with plagiarism to do?

He didn't just post images and tag #photography. The post isn't about the images it's about the text, if the text is plagiarised/spun then sure prove it and I'll join in on downvoting it. Other than that let the people claiming they can't use certain images deal with the images being taken down. They're stored on front-ends or on image storing servers of the front-ends after all, not on the blockchain.

Are you telling me that I can steal a book as long as I don't use Tag writing?

Are you being a dumbass on purpose?

He's not being rewarded FOR the images, it's for the text. You can use images as banners or relevance to the text to make the post look better. It's really not rocket science unless you are trying to get on my nerves on purpose then great fucking job.

Well you can get upset because I make you see the mistake you are making by saying this, of course the image is decisive for it to receive reward, write a post without images to see how it goes, the problem is that small and new users are destroyed by errors that can be argued in that, they did not know or because everyone does it

It is surprising what they comment, since Mr. @fermionico judged, humiliates, doing shit to people, reviewing them from images, texts, and others. And now he comes to cry, so that they come out to defend them. Hive is located on a network on the internet, therefore they are governed by the same intellectual property rules as all what is here.

if you as a curator expect those images to be his you're most likely having bigger problems.

Maybe, you need read this or if you need it in spanish

Speak for yourself.

I don’t do it. I use my own content. I have no need to steal.

Maybe you should stop projecting onto me.

Okay I didn't directly mean you or me but way to turn your back against a fellow hiver and ring the downvote alarms on some petty IP issue from an obvious sock.

Whether or not it’s a Walden account is a minor issue.

The truth was told by the rando, and what @fermionico did was steal content he had no legal right to, to profit himself.

Since he refused to do the right thing I gave him some help.

He's not profiting from the images, they're not the sole reason he's receiving rewards on the post. Since it's images he may not legally use it's in the hands of the owner to take actions against him and/or the front-ends/the storage of the images. People share these stuff on Reddit daily, soccer subreddits share gifs and an hour or so later the gifs are taken down, the person who posted them isn't the one receiving any consequences even if the main thing was the gif that wasn't legal to be used, it's the website or the server storing it that takes care of DMCA's or legal issues with the content.

Yet here you want to punish someone for content he used where the content wasn't the main thing people were curating his post for.

Well by this argument all image and content poaching is fair game. Nice to know. So anyone can just take your posts and profit from them.

Good to know.

Wow. Thanks for the easy mute.

That means that in my next post I can use an image from wherever I want and not put the source and/or I don't care if it is forbidden by the owners, I still won't give a damn, and nobody will come here in Hive (including the aforementioned protagonist of this whole dilemma or the nice guys from Hive Watchers, or some other self-appointed "watchers" and "defenders" of Hive, like thugs to give me downvote or leave me threatening or offensive messages since, after all, my main content is the text and not that image.

Is that what you want to tell me?

If they are here and you've taken the images from someone who is active here and giving them credit then I don't see a problem with it, of course it would be nice since beneficiaries are in place if you gave them a little reward as well which is the main idea of the stock photo community. I don't see why you would have to. He's in his full right to send the front-ends a DMCA and report you to the authorities if he wants but other than that it shouldn't be a hivewatcher or community issue to downvote you based on images used in a post where the images are just there for the story/text.

I think I was quite clear in how I see this, then again I'm not a proponent of IP and would only be flattered if someone used my photos and gives credit to me to his readers while others get all up in arms cause they feel something is being taken from them and get on all fours trying to suck up to an imaginary MLB representative who's obviously one of you guys. Of course there are limits too and context you want to use them in, if you use them in a defamatory light I'm sure the community would feel differently. OP clearly didn't and thanks to this whole facade I am now aware of MLB's NFT's which I had forgotten about so in a way he/you literally gave MLB profit by marketing their trademark.

PS! He did have the source under the images so you're wrong.

What you are doing is not fair use. You are benefiting financially.

At the same time it feels a bit gullible to expect a representative of MLB to notice this on the same day it's posted. I mean come on.
