Although the dynamics of new projects are always at an intense pace of improvement or idea production, our particular needs to be guided.
The dilemma is already known: when the price of HIVE falls (and especially when the price remains at "rock bottom" for longer than expected... something that, incidentally, has been happening for some time now), the production of content and the massive presence of existing users also falls. This shows that there is a more urgent valuation in relation to the price of HIVE, and not with the essence of Hive itself (and here I am referring to the project). How long will this cycle last?
There's no denying that lower upvote values are discouraging. After all, the financial aspect remains one of the most important parts of the project's concept, but if the focus is exclusively on making that money grow (and mechanizing that idea through successive withdrawals, which end up affecting the entire system at some point), there's no other conclusion than the fact that Hive will actually fail and close all its doors.
The focus needs to change, because if you're truly part of the group of users who envision this project as a long-term success, it's precisely moments like this (where the well-known "bloodbath" causes a large drop in the flow of shares within the ecosystem) that make you stronger and more committed to the growth and maintenance of this project. It's not just a matter of perspective, but also of action.

O foco precisa mudar, porque se você realmente faz parte do grupo de usuários que pensa nesse projeto num sucesso de longo prazo, são precisamente momentos como este (onde o conhecido “banho de sangue” faz com que haja grande desistência no tráfego de ações dentro do ecossistema) que te deixam mais forte, e também, mais comprometidos em relação ao crescimento e manutenção desse projeto. Não é uma questão apenas de perspectiva, mas também de ação.

Hopefully we will see a turnaround at some point. I enjoy posting here so I'm going to keep at it personally, even though earning less is discouraging. However, for it does make onboarding significantly more difficult as new members often earn close to nothing and give up...

I definitely feel the impact whenever HIVE’s price drops. It affects motivation, it affects consistency, and it honestly affects the general energy of the platform. Lower upvotes can sting, especially when you put real effort into what you create.
But you’re right, moments like these really test whether we’re here only for the payouts or for the long-term vision of the ecosystem. The financial side is a big part of Hive, no doubt, but if that becomes the only reason people show up, the whole foundation becomes shaky. I think that’s why your reminder about perspective is so important.
For me, I’m learning to see these low periods as a kind of quiet season, a time where the genuine builders, writers and creators keep holding things up even when it’s not really rewarding. So yeah, I agree with you that this is a phase, and it won’t last forever. The ecosystem is still evolving, and if we want it to survive the long term, these difficult stretches matter just as much as the high ones.
If the person's main reason for joining HIVE is for the rewards, then it would be extra heartbreaking for them. A lot of my acquaintances left the previous platform after the price went down, especially when they experienced the all-time high... and so many of them didn't make it to HIVE when we moved. xD
It's tough for me since I need extra budget these days, but I don't find it discouraging. I've written blogs on Web2 before without any rewards, but there was no engagement, and that was discouraging for me back then. haha
Anyway, I hope the situation becomes better in the coming days. For now, let's take it as a good chance to grow our accounts further.
Having clarity on what one is doing here solves much of the problem, I think. It's a revolution, so there are meant to be up and down moments, part of the process, enjoying the process makes more sense here that what the current outcome of the process is giving us. Who knows what tomorrow holds?
Yeah I've never understood why activity drops off. If anything there's more opportunity when the Hive price decreases. 100% power ups now produce quite a nice amount of Hive.
The other thing is that 'good content' remains rewarded for around the same dollar value. Not much changes for most.
