Hey there everyone! It's been a while since I was able to do a Battle Report of any kind! But I have played some matches last weekend so I am able to produce you THIS!
I had to play my Slow Grow 2024 opponent for March and that opponent was Kyle, playing Imperial Fists who are a manly Space Marine army!
They shall be facing my Space Wolves Infantry army at 500pts.
Below you can see the battlefield set up.
A forest in the centre and then some ruins around the edges.
Then for Deployment and Mission rules...
Deploying Search and Destroy. We are doing Scorched Earth with Scrambler Fields.
I got the first turn and because the Imperial Fists were all hiding in that big building on the other side of the battlefield, my Space Wolves took to the field and took control of a lot of the area.
This caused the Imperial Fists to storm out because you can't leave your opponent to control too much of the battlefield.
I lost one squad of Blood Claws and he lost his Infernus Marines.
And then I saw how cool his Terminators look and I thought... I COULD try win this game by fighting the OTHER Space Marines in his army... or I could fight against these Terminators led by Darnath Lysander and go for Glory!
I went for Glory...
... and then learned that Lysander leading Terminators is very tough!
So the Imperial Fist (Kyle) won the game.
I had learned the strength of my opponent's lead unit and I had a lot of fun!
My winrate went down to... 84.6% wins.
Lol... I shall have to find more hard opponents!

Kyle is an incredible painter. The weathering and bases on those Terminators is incredible!
It looks like you both had about 3 squads each? With the main difference being you had the heavy weapons and he had terminators?
Oh our lists might look like just two groups of Space Marines but the differences are huge.
I played:
Space Wolves
Vanguard Strikeforce
1x Lieutenant with Powerfist
2x 10 Man Blood Claw Packs (Powerfist, Flamer, Meltagun)
1x 5 Long Fang Pack (4x Lascannons, 1 Powerfist, Plasmagun)
He played:
Imperial Fists
Anvil Siege Force
1x Captain Lysander
1x Lieutenant
1x 5 Intercessor Squad
1x 5 Infernus Marines
1x 5 Terminator Squad
Ah, so you had a 5 more units. To be honest I don't really know the difference between Blood Claws, Intercessor Squads and Infernus marines... but I'm sure there is a lot of difference there.
5 more models yeah... I plan on fielding a Horde Space Marine army... this is just at 500pts.
2000pts is a standard tournament size army... I plan on having 107 models on the field, all Infantry which is unheard of for Space Marines which is WHY I am doing it! To MESS with people!
