Washing Machine Cover
A warm greeting to the entire DIYHub community. I am pleased to bring you a practical and simple washing machine cover. I have made it with scraps of fabric, left over from sewing, and I wanted to take advantage of them so as not to throw them away. As I now have a small washing machine, it needs a cover to protect it from the sun, so it doesn't fade, or from other damages it may suffer, such as scratches and bumps.

Cubierta Para Lavadora
Un grato saludo para toda la comunidad de DIYHub. Me es placentero traerles una práctica y sencilla funda para lavadora. La he realizado con retazos de tela, que quedan de los restos de la costura, y he querido aprovecharlos para no desecharlos. Como ahora tengo una lavadora pequeña, le hace falta una cubierta para protegerla del sol, para que no se decolore, o de otros daños que puedan sufrir, como rasguños y golpes.
With the step by step, it will be easy to make it, it is very simple and quick to create, just get enough fabric scraps and cut it your way, it can be in squares, or in strips according to the size of our washing machine.
Con el paso a paso, les será fácil confeccionarla amigas, es muy sencilla y rápida de crear, basta conseguir los suficientes retazos de tela y recortarlo a tu manera, puede ser en cuadros, o en tiras de acuerdo al tamaño de nuestra lavadora.
The materials we are going to use are very few
- Colorful fabric scraps
- Thread, scissors
- Sewing machine or needle for hand sewing. Yes, they want it.

How to do it:
Step 1.
We measure the three sides of our washing machine, since it has the pipes at the back. Each side measures 50 wide, we are going to add two more centimeters and the total is 52. Its height is 77, we add two more centimeters and the total is 79.

Primer. paso
Le medimos a nuestra lavadora sus tres lados, ya que por detrás tiene las tuberías. Cada lado mide 50 de ancho, le vamos a agregar dos centímetros más y el total nos queda en 52. Su altura es 77, le agregamos dos centímetros más y nos queda en 79. Estos centímetros extras son de costura.
Second step
We select the scraps, and begin to join them together forming strips, measuring 54 centimeters long. Once we have all the strips we begin to join them together, until we have a kind of blanket, then we finish off all the sides with a small hem.
Segundo paso
Seleccionamos los retazos, y comenzamos a unirlos formando tiras, que midan 54 centímetros de largo. Una vez que tengamos todas las tiras comenzamos a unirlas, hasta tener una especie de manta, luego rematamos todos sus lados con un pequeño dobladillo.
Third step
The upper part or where the lid is the measure is 48 x 48, we are going to add one centimeter on each side. The image is in the first step.
Tercer paso
La parte superior o donde está la tapa la medida es de 48 x 48, le vamos a agregar un centímetro por cada lado. La imagen esta en el primer paso.
Now we take several pieces to make the lid and we join them until we get the indicated measures, once we form the square, we make a small curvature at the front ends, since the washing machine is not completely square.
Ahora tomamos varios retazos para realizar la tapa y los unimos hasta obtener las medidas indicadas, una vez que formamos el cuadrado, le hacemos una curvatura pequeña en las puntas de adelante, ya que mi lavadora, no es completamente cuadrada.
We continue by joining the top with the skirt, to center it well. Fold the fabric of the upper part and make a picket in the middle, we do the same procedure with the lower part. We start sewing from the mark on both sides, then we make a hem along the edge of the fabric. We finish off all the threads and our beautiful and colorful cover is ready.
Proseguimos uniendo la tapa con la falda, para centrarla bien. Doblamos la tela de la parte superior y le hacemos un piquete en la mitad, hacemos el mismo procedimiento con la parte inferior. Comenzamos a pasarle costura a partir de la marca a ambos lados, luego hacemos un dobladillo, por toda la orilla de la tela. Rematamos todos los hilos y ya está lista nuestra funda, bella y muy colorida.
Me gustó mucho este cobertor para la lavadora realizado con retazos de tela. Es necesario y útil para cuidar los electrodomésticos.
