Engraved and Painted: The Pick Box Returns

in DIYHub5 days ago

Not too long ago I posted one of my laser engraving projects which included a box with a guitar on it, as well as "guitar picks".

Obviously for the use of storing my guitar picks lol.

My son loved it and wanted it for his room. With that, I decided why not make another one?

This time I chose a different guitar model for the engraving. I went with something like a Gibson ES. I also increased the size of the guitar compared to the last box.

I also went with a different font style this time.

Here it is with the acrylic paint. I did the last guitar red as well but couldn't bring myself to do a blue or green or anything because red just looks right again.

I'll use a different color next time, which there will be.

I'm happy with the way it looks. I went a little bit more into details on this one than I did previously. Mainly by adding the white dots up the neck, and giving color to the headstock.

I didn't add any color to the font this time because I just couldn't decide on the right one. Honestly, I'm kinda feeling the way it looks just engraved and unpainted.

So it is.

I'm curious to see if my boy will want to trade his out for this new one lol or maybe he'll end up with both of them? I don't mind either way.

I still have a blank box just sitting around so unless I have another idea soon, it will be another pick box, another guitar, another color as well.

Until then, thanks for reading my post and have a great day!
