Seeing that my husband was relaxing the other day, I found a job for him to do - create a breakfast bar overlooking the garden.
I usually have a cuppa or my muesli standing up against the balcony rail, looking down on the garden below and contemplating what to plant or weed next. I knew we had a spare cypress plank under the house which I thought would be great to extend the existing railing, making it wide enough for plates and cups of coffee.
It was easy enough to do, despite his complaining - cut to size, make a couple of supports, and voila.
I'd found two outdoor plastic chairs from Officeworks for $18 each - what a bargain. I'd seen them online for $150 and likely from same factory.
And of course, some artfully arranged pots.
There was nothing much to do after that than sit and have a sauv blanc.
Perfecto. Feels holiday-ey.
And in the week since we have done it, we've enjoyed early morning coffees, garden lunches, a family party, and sauv blanc at sunset.
What a great idea even if I do say so myself.

Now thats for sure is bright idea, with the view you have there, why only now? Hahaha. And not just for breakfast but you can even have lunch, snakes and dinner there. I also think its is a nice dinner date venues, just add candle, lit it, add some fresh flowers on the table, and voila ┏(＾0＾)┛. Nicey,nicey!
Oh yes a candle would be sweet. Tres romantic! We have only been in the house a year and have been doing sooo many jobs!

Poor Jamie, he never gets a break. Was a great idea though. What a wonderful place for a cup-a-joe in the mornings. Nice place for a beer the rest of the day too. :)

To be honest, I'm shocked that it took you so long to think of making him do that for you. Seems like the absolute perfect spot for something like that. Though it does look more like beer bar (okay, wine in your case as you write) than a breakfast bar, considering that lovely sunset. I guess in the morning the sun is on the other side?
We face north, so sun rises easy and sets west. Brekky bara faces north. Sun most of day! I know ... You know how you wonder how an idea didn't occur to you earlier??? Plus I didn't know we had that wood under the house...
