These wonderful drink is not just tasty but is medicinal,
These drink has been used for years by our parents to boost blood shortage.
It has been proven to contain iron, riboflavin, vitamin A,C,E,B1,B2,B9,B12 which aids in red blood cells formation and also in building of tissues.
In my local language it is called the blood of Jesus or blood tonic but it's botanical name is justicia carnea
I have so many histories with these amazing plant , first was when I was pregnant of my first baby and it was confirmed that I had shortage of blood and I would be needing blood transfusion but because I didn't have enough fund for a transfusion, I resulted to taking these leaf together with beetle plant and it worked like magic.
These amazing drink is not just known for its medicinal values but also it's taste,
It is very tasty especially when added milk and it smells nice , it's red color is attractive to the eyes and a must try for everyone.

🌻4handful of Blood of Jesus leaf (justicia carnea)
🌻4-5 cups Water
🌻1tin of milk

The duration for preparing these drink is
just 10minutes, it consists of zero stress and is not time consuming.
Wash the leaf with salt and add to a boiling water , allow to boil for about 8minutes or to your satisfaction

When it starts boiling ,you would notice that the water will turn red while the leafs remains green , don't panic that's just it's nature.
Remove from heat and transfer the liquid to a glass cups

After transferring the hot liquid to a cup, add milk to your taste.
It is never compulsory that you will add milk, so many people enjoy the drink without adding anything because is not bitter.
The milk is just to make it creamy .

When adding milk, you will notice how the red liquid turns to purple (that's amazing)
Enjoy the drink as morning tea with bread or you can drink it anytime you feel like alone.

That's very interesting, and you're lucky to have that plant in your country. I'm not sure if we also have that plant here in the Philippines, but it would be great if we do because I would surely try it.
