At BDC, we talk about financial freedom a lot. It is a common topic in mass media for a long time, but especially relevant during the Covid Pandemic and life after that. I think to a lot of people, Covid was/is a rude awakening. Many people lost their job, their business, and the way they lead their day-to-day life. Key point was/is, that the event is global. Everybody felt the pinch, directly or indirectly. Nobody thought that a global pandemic will last for more than a year. Many didn’t think that it will happen to THEM!
So, with all the negative out of the way, let us talk about a few positives and see if you guys saw it coming. During the beginning of the crisis, around March-April 2020 (exactly 1 year back) global stock markets hit a catastrophic low, and we saw world’s economy crumbling. Fear was everywhere. At that point in time if you had said, and this thing will last one year, no one would have believed you; but if you had said, at 1 year from that point stock market will wipe out all the losses and will make new ATH, no one would have believed you either. Even more important is, all that happened when we are still in crisis mode. But somehow the world learned to work from home. Learned to earn a living one way or the other. Necessity is the mother of invention. Globally we have found Gig Economy.
Funny thing is, many people here at BDC were already doing it for more than 2 years, just like many others in the greater hive community. For many people, Hive and hive ecosystem related gigs was and is the only source of income. They thrived during this crisis. They had the knowhow that they have built over the last 2-3 years, and when the crypto bull market came in 2020, they hit it hard.
That brings me back to Financial Freedom. There are many definitions of that word. It simply means having enough discretionary income from various investments of businesses so that you can afford a lifestyle of your choice. It doesn’t mean a lavish lifestyle. It only means a lifestyle of your liking, if could be your present one, or it could be something better than you currently have. Financial Freedom also means, not living from paycheck to paycheck. You can have a job and be financially free. It only means, even if you lose the job, it will not impact your family finances. You are doing the job, because you like to do it, not because you must do it.
Then the follow up question is how you achieve it. This is where thoughts begin to diverge and there is no consensus. Most common thoughts currently are to lead a minimalistic lifestyle. Cut down drastically on spending, save a large part of what you earn. Rack up those savings (live in a tent! No Starbucks or pizza for you! And definitely no movies or vacation!... joking!). This way you maximize your savings, with your current income, and retire early when you have saved enough money to pay of your daily expenses till you are 100 years old! I personally DO NOT like this approach. I like to live in the present and enjoy life now. NOW NOW!
My thought is to maximize the other side of the equation. Earn MORE. A lot more than you are currently earning. By learning a new skill or two. Take the money you have and learn how to grow it exponentially. In the beginning, if you have a plan, I don’t even mind if you borrow money to execute your plan and return the borrowed money quickly. In my mind that is SEED Capital.
It has been proven, that amateurs often do a much better job than professionals, because of their passion. However, the biggest problem amateurs have is the lack of ability to capitalize on their ideas. Most amateurs do not have access to an ‘incubator’ funding. As people do not like to take risks with amateurs. Here in this community, we adore amateurs who are honest and hard working. Together we learn and seek our collective financial freedom using this blockchain based ecosystem. I hope you like this idea, and help us achieve it.

My good friend @surrealfia recently reminded me of Le Petit Soldat which she is planning to watch, a film written and directed by one of the forerunner of the French New Wave, Jean-luc Godard. The film can be a mascot for what the movement embodied.
What was the french new wave? A bunch of French artists and critics decided to break away from the traditional way of filmmaking, disregarding conformity with the established cultures, safe ideas.
Films, via their hands became much more political and had real social impact. Filmmaking style changed too, they changed scenes frequently without much head ups, many jump cuts (godard specialty) and longer takes. The whole thing undermined some of the theatrical qualities and queerness old french films (and also most of hollywood) had.
The change, of course, upset some authorities, Le petit soldat was based on Algerian war and the french authority did not look good in it. They banned the film.
But revolutionaries like Godard had courage in their hearts and their movement ultimtely gave birth to the new hollywood movement and also the new german cinema. In a way, those french films are some of the most important work in film history.
The way I see it, the question isn't why should you, rather why shouldn't you see them?

When I look back at my life, for some reason a smile seems to appear on my face! Plenty of struggles, ups and downs but still I am here. Sometimes I tend to ask myself, why am I in this situation? Is this some sort of exam or is it just a way of making me understood what I am not educated of? All these questions used to bug me in the past. Probably because of the situation I was in. But once life started to come in track, those questions seemed to make sense to me. Moreover they were probably the pillar of myself! I will not bore you but just will state some facts and will clarify my standings on those points.
I was always the curious kind of person! You know the type which asks questions within themselves and tries to find out answers by themselves as well. Yeah, another drawback of being an introvert. But for some reason all these helped me, to discover a new world for myself. You know, different from most people are used to think off! All this happened due to curiosity and the amount of dedication and efforts which I was able to give for all this time. I am happy now! Atleast if I compare my day job to my current situation, I definitely am outperforming my activities.
Some people say, when opportunity knocks at your door, you better answer it. Yup, you better do that! As when you think about your present too much, you will miss out options (probably better) which could make your life much better than your current situation. In my case, I started my job life with close to no salary at all. The wage which I used to get it went out in my travel cost but I did not left that. Because I was probably hungry for experience and moreover the society rules really got me. Nevertheless, hunting for better opportunities never really stopped.
My initial thought was, there is an opportunity to make myself better get into it. Once you are in it, you will find a way. Do not sit back and analyze what might happen or what could happen! If I would have done that, than I would been in an office and compiling files by the order of my boss for a nefty amount of money. I am not complaining but just saying, it really sucks to be that way and according to the condition of my country if you are not getting 6 digit salary, you will probably suffer a lot at the end of the road. Been there done that!
Life is really full of shit rules! I did what I had to do, to do what I like to do! A long way ahead my friends. Do not loose any opportunity which might bring supportive hands towards you in the future. As whatever happens you are solely responsible for what you do and what you get at the end of the day.

The Department of Health has again issued a lockdown to curb the rise in coronavirus infection. The law on hygiene has been enforced more vigorously at all levels. There was no way out except to give a lockdown to the rate at which the infection was growing. It is OK to include everything under lockdown to deal with the situation.
There is no better way to be safe in this current world situation than to be aware of one's own place. Our country is underdeveloped (developing) than other countries. So it is normal that people in remote areas of our country are not aware enough. So the non-profit organizations of the country, many of them by themselves, together with friends, are coming forward from their respective places. To make unconscious people aware. Along with everyone else, we also had a coronavirus awareness campaign, Also we planned to stand by the helpless people in this difficult time.
Did you think once about day laborers? due to the global epidemic of the coronavirus, the lockdown hit the day laborers first. Lockdown is very challenging especially for some classes of people as our country is a developing nation. I saw their suffering from the very front. Unable to bear to see them suffer so closely, we plan to stand by them. So we, together with friends, help 55 families with food with the funding of @Appics.
We aimed to find out the financial situation of the helpless people in our village, to help those who are struggling more. Since the work of day laborers was stopped at that time, those who have physically weak and sick people in their families, even those who have more members in their family, are undoubtedly suffering more. It was the little attempt to stand by their side.
𝕲𝖔𝖆𝖑𝖘 𝖔𝖓 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖜𝖆𝖞
In our childhood, we all read a common essay that is 'Aim in life.' The main goal of that was to make us realize the importance of having a specific goal to move on. Without an aim, our life is like a ship without a rudder and we all know that but not taking into action. The craze of crypto is going on so let's talk about it.
I still remember the goals I had when I first started to trade. Gradually I was going near my target and was feeling the need of aiming for a new milestone. That new one would be higher in comparison to my previous one. You know every time we touch a target and that gives us immense satisfaction. And the new goal tells us about our next destination and guides us through the way. The goals I set in the beginning, seem like very little for me from my current position. Because I have achieved those in my way. Back then, that was some dream to achieve. Even now, I have new goals set for me so that I don't get out of my track. This time the targets are high. But I also believe that there will come a day when I would look back at this goal and smile at my victory.
That's how our life moves on. We are on a run with so many riddles. If we can't mark the milestones continuously then we are easy to get lost after hitting our first target. There is satisfaction in watching ourselves achieving goals one after another. So let's set some goals in the way ahead of us and keep ourselves on track.

I know a lot of us pretty much upset about dv... believe me I'm it has pissed me off as well... turni is a collective effort of all of us; I haven't seen any other communities pulling of something like this week after week after week... but this isn't going to be the end, we'll carry on putting our efforts together here.

Toushik, not only a good trader and a writer but also you're a great human being. past Thursday I have posted about the lockdown of this second wave; it's just a sham. the only difference is perhaps that few shops on the vip roads are closed (shopping malls are still open).. people don't bother much about hygiene or safety protocols, it's too heated to follow them as it is... but it's admirable what you're doing and i'm very sure you'll try to help others in similar ways like last year

I think we should focus on the protective. I have seen a few accounts giving out downvotes. I am a bit indifferent about it. I keep supporting the communities and people who support me. I don't think the voting power is been abused here but other people may have different opinions about it and I have no interest in correcting anything or changing their mind.
The thing is if it was just one person writing and he/she got DV'd then it's a different matter (maybe) but turni is a collaborative effort so it stings a little bit more

It is not always about proving a point by dv. He is very welcome to dv posts that have nothing but a pretty chick behind it explaining what she did.
In the end, it is just all about ego or is it about intolerance towards others' success?
Gaining financial freedom is a goal for many people.I am no exception, I have started walking towards that goal. Joining BDC with you guys was one of the best thing to me. It will keep up with the flows.

If I get a life time opportunity, I will hold it very tightly, I will not give up the opportunity. Such thoughts often strike the head. But do you know, brother, there are many chances in life, even life time chances, but holding and accepting in the right way matters.
But I get encouragement from you many times. When we chat on Discord, you often talk about the motives of amateurs people like us, the right time will come, be patient and work hard. These really works on me hardly.
Even a few days ago you told me,

Those feelings are awesome bro, reaching small goals. And the eternal truth is that big goals have to be achieved by fulfilling small goals. No one was able to reach his main goal by Jumping the small ones.

As long as you are alive bro, life will change its colours and direction. But the point is that how you control those emotions. I am defining the term as ‘emotion’ because this is the only thing to be controlled in life to be successful.
I also saw those conversations and these really help me a lot too in order to keep moving. They are the inspiration for me and you are too.
In 2020 Hive is the best thing that happened to me. For my financial side, Hive was the first and gradually spreading roots here and there. Well, I also believe in living Now but achieving financial freedom is not a bad desire.
That's what I always say that together we will rise.
Toushik bro, I have very closely seen many families facing destruction due to the covid pandemic. That's true that these day laborers are the one who are hit first but there are some families too who cant ask for any help openly or can bear these situations. I feel pity for them the most.

I think you are talking about the middle class people. It’s the fact that these group of people are real sufferers who can not ask money to others. It would be nice if we can find them and extend our hands.
Yes, Middle class families suffer a lot because they do not have enough savings to cope with the situation. They cannot ask for help from others openly, as minhaj said.

The pandemic was a rude awaking like you said it was a difficult time for many households even mine. Fortunately, I had hive and it helped because I was earning from my content.
Now we are in the bull run and most people's stake here has grown exponentially. This is the beauty of crypto.
About being financially free. It is a work in progress. I am growing my investing and hopefully, in the next 1-2years, I will be financially free.
Even we don't know how long it will be continued and the bear market will drag us down. I really hope that doesn't come soon because I have many things in mind to accomplish like others. Let's hope for the best.😊
Same here. I wish the bull run last for another 12months. It would really do a lot for me.
If it runs for next 12 months, many of us will really get financial freedom which is our ultimate goal.
I believe so too...i am on the verge of completing my house and starting a small business from my earnings. I am changing my life with the money I make here. It was inconceivable at some point but things are changing now.
12 months! I think this is more than enough for many of us to bring a huge change. Rest is on the hand of Almighty.
When I began writing, so many gigs rejected my works, even on fiverr I did so many jobs without getting paid because I wasn't an established writer. It was really rampant, the world rejected amateurs forgetting that professional were once amateurs who had the opportunity and people who were willing to believe on them. In all honesty Hive was that opportunity that allowed me to develop Into the food writer I am. Hive wasn't a source of income alone, it was a stepping stone through and a learning curve it was providing me the means and helped me mature at the same time.
As for financial freedom, to me it's being able to have different streams of income that even if you didn't have to work you're definitely covered to live comfortably

That’s true. Even I know few people who are supporting their family from the earning of blogging in this platform. But the problem is when someone is considering this as only earning source and overlook the passion part then it becomes like milking and we don’t expect that. However, thanks for your nice comments.
I agree with this. For financial freedom to be a thing it's important that we are able to have enough that we don't always have to struggle till the next pay cheque.

I also believe in living Now. But you can't really ignore that too. You should always have a plan for a long time too. By securing our long run we easily enjoy our present with double satisfaction. Well, it's my personal opinion.

What could be better than this in the interpretation of Financial Freedom. I think this is the best words to understand financial freedom. Honestly, in the case of the people of our country, the job is the only source of income and when somehow it is lost, they have no choice but to see darkness in their eyes. They actually don’t have the financial freedom. Honestly, the Hive platform has given financial freedom to many who have taken it as passion and hold themselves tight in the bear market which is paying off now. This is a part of their income now and they are not dependent on the job only. However, as we often discuss in our BDC discord channel that we want to give financial freedom to all of us and that days might not so far away.
You know what? @rehan12 when I read your story, i was imagining its @surrealfia's but at the end of the article i saw your name lol, i guess I am used to surrealfia's writing though the construction was different.
Anyways, I am glad to read that you stretched further to grab the opportunity that was before you and trust me this is the only way people are bound to grow and to do better in whatever aspect of life.

The covid-19 lockdown is a big problem for the poor and working people. Those who work hard to eat, They will not die for coronavirus, will die without eating.
That's a sad reality for a country like ours. In these cases, everyone should work hand in hand to help one another. If we just sit and regret the situation won't change the scenario.
