Small Things in Life

It is a common belief small things get overlooked, but that is so not because of their size materialistically or their insignificance metaphysically as one might easily reach to such a conclusion--rather the abundance of them. If you're actively looking for it, a microscopic bug might not be too small. A large tree in a forest is surely too small to notice separately.
We take it for granted when our family members do us kindness all their lives, but we take note of amiability in strangers with much more significance. A sudden meeting with one's idol might overshadow a bonus in the job, even though it doesn't come with any monetary gain. What things in particular are small in life may be highly subjective, however, it is my belief that the more accessible something is, the smaller it is. Yet, we are so habituated with their stale, constant presence in our lives that even insignificant changes may resonate deeply.

I enjoy such states of resonance and sometimes they can shake me back to active consciousness. A perfect shave without any cuts or skin irritation in the morning can boost willpower more efficiently than the promise of bright sun rays.
Tea is my go to drink, but their taste usually varies and it's not easy to attain a desired taste. And randomly when the stars align, it's the greatest drink in the world.

About a year ago I turned the local market upside down for a pair of earbud foams. They are dirt cheap, only cost a few cents but no vendor keeps them anymore. I don't like the new in-ear earphones with silicon tips that are flooded in the market these days, earbuds with flat heads of the olden days are still my preferred style. Failing to find any, I turned to online. No Bangladeshi online shop had them either. Now I had to turn to aliexpress. I found them alright, but to my despair, twice I had to find out after months of waiting the seller did not send out because of the low cost of the item. Then I the ordered a bunch of them, cost me only about 2$ (but would last me for years) and when I finally had them I could almost shed tears of joy!

I sometimes make a late night dish, which is watery soup noodles with a bunch of local spices, whatever can be found in every household. Nothing extravagant. Yet the experience of slurping down a bowl of that usually surpasses all of the expensive dishes I can think of.
Some days getting the chores done feels good for some inexplicable reasons.

There is of course the other side of the wind. If I trip over something, even when I'm not hurt, such an event can send me in a raging mood, followed by a frustrated one for being clumsy. I often feel anxious about what people might be thinking about me in random encounters even though I'm perfectly aware at the very moment, their opinion about me hardly matters at all.

I do notice small things consciously every now and then but I suspect it is my limitation as a thinking man that I fail to appreciate or deduce cause and effect for most of them.

Again with the noodles... 😉 I love how you rambled this out in the most casual, but meaningful of manners. Glad you now have enough fuzzy earbuds to last a lifetime.

Tea, yes... so many times that balance is just slightly off, but damn when it's right... it's right- and is without question, the finest drink in the world. Second to wine, obviously lol.

Obviously, eh? Haha!

For a day to day drink, I'd still pick tea though. I guess they don't really compare.

I have plenty of foams to last me a two more years I think, although I fear they might go bad before that.

I'm sure you will figure out some nifty way of suitable storage.

My small thing in life, Supernatural!

Favorite band, favorite show!

Hehe supernatural soundtracks have introduced me to so many new bands that I later went on to become fans of! Besides the show, gotta admire their taste in music!

Oh man I love this song so friggin much!

Did you mention a “shave”...

A good shave you mean...

You and I should talk :)

Haha yes, a good shave feels really nice. The face seems to feel the air more intimately!
