“Without music, life would be a mistake” ― Friedrich Nietzsche
We all love music but our taste, our choice of music is completely different. I have never seen a single person who doesn't love music, everybody loves to listen to music. When I was 5 years old my dad introduced me to the world of music but somehow I didn't continue my journey. But I was connected with the music world for almost 8-10 years and then I stopped my music journey...
I started my music journey learning classical music. I had a harmonium and I used to practice a lot, in fact, every morning or evening. I had a music teacher also who taught me how to play the harmonium and introduced me to classical music.
Nobody believes that I used to sing, honestly speaking I was not a bad singer and I also sang on C scale to. Now I forgot everything but I guess I still know how to play the harmonium. My dad's biggest regret is why I left/stopped singing and still he complains about it. I can understand his feelings because he always wants me to sing.
I also went to the music school where I learned Rabindra Sangit and Nazrul Sangit. Rabindra Sangit is basically songs written by Rabindranath Tagore and Nazrul Sangit are written by Kazi Nazrul Islam (our National Poet). When I was 8 years old, I introduced myself to the Folk songs of Bangladesh but as I have mentioned I stopped singing later.
Nowadays if I tell anyone that I used to sing, either they laugh or they just give me a shocking look which expresses it's hard for them to digest. My voice has been changed a lot, I can't sing now publicly but I am still a bathroom singer. I love Bengali music though now I don't listen to them at all. When I was 10 years old, I fall in love with Bollywood music which is actually Hindi music. I still hear Hindi music but I am not a crazy fan now because the world of music has been changed a lot.
When I was a teenager, I heard Dream Threatre for the first time and came to know the world of the Metal band. I can't sing English music but still I can understand the beat, tunes, and melody.
Now I don't do research, I just heard trending music and create my own playlist. Time has been changed drastically, I can relate my 5 years old journey till now. Not bad at all, if those incidents never happened I would have continued my music journey. People laugh at me when they see my playlist, I don't mind honestly. Because now I don't focus on music...
I am a creative person and on that note I need music, I love music. I respect other's tastes as well but I prefer my music playlist more. Maybe some songs are 10 years old but who cares...
I listen to all types of music except one... I can't digest thrash metal music. I also don't understand Rap or Hip-hop at all though I listen to them. I just need lyrics in front of me before listening to them...
“If music be the food of love, play on, Give me excess of it; that surfeiting, The appetite may sicken, and so die.” ― William Shakespeare

You are very right dear friend @priyanarc surprised to hear that you sang. You have an extraordinary father, I also wished that my oldest son was related to music
You are an extraordinary woman full of beautiful attitudes and skills, which surprises us as we get to know you.

Ahahaha. Dream Theater are quite melodic and catchy. It's called Progressive Metal. I was lucky enough to see them live already... twice! 😁
I understand that you can't listen to harsher stuff, it isn't for everyone! 😂
Yes, my last level is Eminem, I can't digest higher than that.. :D I love Dream theatre, to be honest... You are a really lucky man... You enjoyed their concert :D
I love classical music. Subcontinent has a special treasury of classical music in hindi/urdu language. Our Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Aabida Parveen are commonly known in all around the world for their unique style of classical music.
Well I heard Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and now I heard Rahat Fateh Ali Khan more.. He is quite famous nowadays, I heard Gajal as well.. :)
