Hello friends, Your day is still good, isn't it? I will be very happy if your answer is "great" 🥰
I'm in week 6 of the Seasonal Hunting Challenge, hosted by our friend @barbara-orenya. This time we're looking for the fall landscape, and if you want to join this challenge click the link to read the rules of the challenge here😊
Autumn - the season of beautiful scenery like a picture bestowed by nature, from the branches swaying in the wind to the weather makes me feel at ease. It is not only the most beautiful time of the year, but it is also the time to harvest the fruits or crops of the year. If every year, in the fall, I just like to visit small cafes, sit in a corner to enjoy a warm cup of coffee and watch the flow of people pass by, this year I have made a more interesting decision.
This fall, I chose for myself a more interesting experience than picking forest fruits at Hai Van Pass, where there are many different types of trees including fruit trees, old trees and wildflowers that I have never seen before.
There are many people who like the cold weather of autumn, there are also people who like to see the leaves gradually turning yellow along the roads, but I love autumn because it is the fruit harvest season. It is the season we receive sweet fruit after a period of cultivation and care. However, it's even more interesting when I'm harvesting forest fruit and not from back garden crops.
Exploring Autumn Forest Trees
It's neither spring nor summer - it can only be autumn because just by feeling it, you'll notice the distinct difference of each season. The flowers that have gradually faded and given way to ripe fruits are a signal to us that autumn has come.
In autumn, there are many kinds of fruits on this Hai Van Pass. Immerse myself in nature and enjoy the sweet fruits that nature offers, I want to spread this joy to everyone so I would like to introduce to you some of those fruits.
Let's see what I have harvested 😉!
Raspberry
Tadaa... This is my favorite fruit, it reminds me of the days when I volunteered in the mountains in Quang Nam, I was led by children to pick them. In the city you will rarely see these plants. In Vietnam, it is called "Mam Xoi" fruit, which means a fruit shaped like a tray of sticky rice.
Haha, since it's a wild fruit that isn't cared for but grows naturally, it's a bit small compared to the ones sold at the supermarket, but this is great enough for me 😍!
The raspberry is a plant in the mulberry family that is red or black in color. It has a sweet and sour taste and is rich in vitamin C. This plant usually grows in cold climates. In Vietnam, raspberries are grown a lot in the northern mountainous provinces and Da Lat. Harvest season of this fruit is in July, August every year. It also occurs on Hai Van Pass in the Bach Ma mountain range because the climate here is also quite cold, a favorable environment for this fruit to grow.
Sim fruit
The next fruit that I found was the Wild Sim fruit. In summer, this place is dyed purple by Sim flowers like a beautiful picture. But when I went there in autumn, the purple flowers had faded and were replaced by Sim fruits.
In Vietnam, the forest sim is mainly of the rose myrtle variety with purple flowers and oblong, purple fruits. While Sim fruits in some countries such as Australia and the US are small Sim varieties with white flowers and round, dark green fruits, and they are often called blueberries.
Sim fruit is also a berry like raspberry, with many small seeds inside and when ripe, it has a dark purple color, sweet taste and very fragrant. In addition, Sim fruits also have many uses such as hemostasis, diarrhea, ...
I was fortunate to see and pick for myself the most ripe and fresh Sim fruits. I have heard about this fruit a lot but this is my first time picking and tasting it. This is a very wonderful experience in the fall.
Lemon and Guava
Lemon is a very popular fruit and is available in many markets and supermarkets. But in the city, not everyone can see the lemon trees luxuriant with leaves and fruit. I picked myself 1 lemon to make my fruit basket look more attractive :v. Wild lemon has a much more fragrant smell, and especially it is cleaner and safer than lemons sold in the market.
I also picked myself wild guava, although they are small, they are delicious.
I had a day to explore the forest fruits in this poetic and attractive autumn, how about you? What's interesting in autumn where you live? Please share with me and everyone! And now I have to go enjoy the fruits that I have picked.
