Jade one of the lovely green stones enjoyed over thousands of years first used as a healing stone or symbol of protection from physical decay by the Chinese,

Photograph, only the ring to my memory is Jade brought back from one of my Aunts many holidays abroad I may even have this wrong, the other green jewellery is Malachite another stone for healing, jewellery I enjoyed wearing, mixing and matching, green being one of my favourites colours.

Now researching both Jade and Malachite, very positive in meaning, new beginnings, expansion and abundance all the things giving one enjoyment. Perhaps it's time to pull out jewellery for that positive vibe in life, feeling very jaded with what is going on in the world today.

Jellyfish Stranded after a spawning frenzy most probably at dawn, early morning walk on the beach 2013 revealed this on the beach. Sting from the large jellyfish can be treated with vinegar by what I have learned.

More frequent visitors are Bluebottles (Siphonophores_Jellyfish)an odd colonials jellyfish, north-easterly winds bring them to shore quite often, larger jellyfish are not frequent visitors.

For those not in the know bluebottle jellyfish have a wicked sting, fortunately the succulent flowers Natal sour fig on the beach leaves similar to aloe-vera, squeezed onto the sting for some relief while still on the beach.

Avoid doing that jitterbug thing on the beach after a sting....

Jaguar Popular cast die toy, could never afford the real one, although did come close to buying one before the children arrived on the scene. Here are some Jaguars played with in our youth to get memories flowing of days we actually played outdoors in the dirt.

Jacky Hanger What we call this relatively small bird who hunts it's prey then impales it onto a bush with thorns, Jacky hanger has his own outdoor pantry to go back to snack whenever hungry.

Reality is the Fiscal shrike in South Africa is mostly known by it's jovial nick name, will use barbed wire fences on farm lands, acacia tree thorns in the bush a common sight throughout the land.

Glad you enjoyed it, why not join in sharing your words starting with letter "K"

Well, your J post is a tiny little bit too late, but nevertheless you have found some interesting words and beautiful photos, Joan 🙂
I like the first two Jellyfish photos most - they look cool 😁

Cheers and !BEER

Just a jolly old day late, always on African time down here Johann. Thanks for visiting and enjoying the wobbly jelly fish.

!BEER makes us jovial, still have post to get there.... 😅

Right, what's one day in a year? Nothing 😉
Yeah, this jellyfish looked like a jelly hill with little brown dots 🙂
Have a great afternoon and thanks for the !BEER 🍻

All great selections Joan. Lovely J selections with jade and jellyfish. The Japanese anemones has pretty blooms.

Always fun to scratch ones head and remember where old photographs are. The Japanese anemones are exceptionally pretty.

You confused me, and had me wondering if I posted the wrong letter! I'm so glad that you did J and didn't skip over it, though. I always learn new things from your alphabet Hunt posts! Love those little Jags!

This is what happens when in lock down for too long, 100 days and counting, content was three quarters ready to go then distracted. Oh well it is all in keeping up no matter which way we go, thanks for visiting.

Yep. I blame lockdown, too. For lots of things! 😉

Haha! I think I am the only one who didn't realize that you march to your own tune of the alphabet! :)

I love those jellyfish in the upper part of the post and I take it for granted that they may all be able to sting.

You just keep marching and I will follow behind! Have a fabulously wonderful day!

Upped and Reposted

Always slightly off tune when marching through anything, timing got lost being the jester at the back is also fun!

Jolly jelly floating in water can give a nasty sting, especially little blue ones that wrap themselves around your legs making you jiggle and wiggle to a tune all of it's own.

Thanks for up and repost, always appreciated, comments always make my day, here is to wishing you a glorious one today, and tomorrow celebrating.

Well done with the J that is never too late to be hunt indeed !😄

I loved this Jacky Hanger that hunt in a rather horrible but somehow picturesque way 😁
I wonder if it is a urban beach legend that wee-weeing on a jellyfish sting would be soothing....? 🤔

My excuse is we are on African time, slower than most LOL.

Wee-weeing will help in some cases, prefer to use the plant for healing bit compromising peeing down your leg in public, or take a bottle of vinegar (who does that/remembers to?)

That jelly fish is huge but I'm dead scared of the blue bottles, got stung once and never again; it stings like hell, no other word describes it better!
So glad to see the Jacky Hammer, we were just talking about it yesterday and I didn't know what they looked like. We had a bird dive bombing into the crotons where all the smaller birds usually sit and wait for us to feed them, and they made such a racket that we wondered if it wasn't one of them but it can't be as this was a larger bird, probably the black starlings as they can be quite nasty!
Lovely J post @joanstewart, you should have featured your name here as well;);)
Where did you get these cool Hive/SA page breaks? Love them!

More haste less speed I did have my name and all the names of my female dogs started with "J" somehow I omitted putting the post up correctly and they got lost by the wayside, so perhaps it was meant to be.

Mixed and matched the page breaks myself in GIMP from logo's and banners on offer on hive, you welcome to use them as well,
