¡Hola a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad y amantes de la escritura creativa! Tan rápido ya nos encontramos en diciembre y al menos para mí, que soy una persona sedentaria que trabaja desde casa, sólo reacciono sobre que ya es Navidad cuando veo algo alusivo a ello en las redes sociales. Hasta los momentos, no se ha colocado nada de decoración en casa, aunque ya me encargué de hacer unos cuantos bolsitos con temática navideña. Como se ha vuelto costumbre, para mi participación en el concurso, me pongo a divagar un poco sobre mi pasado.
La navidad. Una época llena de alegría, buena comida, reunión familiar y adornos por montón. Desde pequeña me ha gustado la navidad, por supuesto, al principio por los regalos, pero luego quedó el gusto por la apreciación de las decoraciones; después de todo, en casa mi madre solía colocar adornos hasta en el baño.
De ese modo, la casa pasaba a volverse un lugar un tanto "mágico" para mí, llena de figuras, peluches y luces. Usar las tazas con dibujos navideños era un lujo que sólo podía accederse por esos meses y podía pasar un rato largo apreciando los adornos en miniatura que parecían contar una historia, pues la delicadeza de estas piezas era notable y mi madre, siempre conseguía figuras maravillosas.
Por supuesto, no podía faltar el árbol de navidad. Aún recuerdo la impresión que nos llevamos cuando mis padres cambiaron nuestro primer árbol por uno nuevo y más grande. Llegaba hasta el techo, hasta casi rozarlo (era un techo bajo), pero para nosotros, era algo grandioso. Durante años, mi madre decoró ese árbol llevada por los accesorios y colores que estuvieran de moda, resultando siempre la admiración de quienes vinieran de visita.
Ahora que estamos en un lugar más pequeño, colocar el árbol de navidad se ha vuelto un desafío. El año pasado fue por el espacio y ahora, debido a la inesperada adición a la familia de "Cleo", una gatita bastante curiosa que ama jugar y subirse por todas partes. Mientras escribo estas líneas, Cleo se encarga de rasguñar algunos trozos de cartón que usa para jugar. Entonces ¿Qué será del árbol una vez que Cleo lo vea? Porque ya hemos tenido gatos que se han llevado bien con el árbol de Navidad, pero Cleo es la gata más hiperactiva que hemos adoptado (es un amor, me la paso abrazándola 😇).
No dudo que la gatita quiera subirse en él y posiblemente, acabe en el suelo. Todos pensamos que no es buena idea colocarlo, al menos no éste año que la gata está en su etapa de correteo. Pero mi hermana insiste en querer ponerlo. Veremos que sucede al final, aunque ya me imagino a la pequeña Cleo creyendo que han colocado en la sala, otro objeto interesante para que se ponga a jugar y Ying, el gato adulto, la mirará con una mezcla de confusión e incomprensión.

Hello to all members of this community and creative writing enthusiasts! It's already December, and at least for me, a homebody who works from home, I only realize it's Christmas when I see something related to it on social media. So far, I haven't put up any decorations at home, although I have made a few Christmas-themed bags. As has become customary, for my participation in the contest, I am going to ramble a little about my past.
Christmas. A time filled with joy, good food, family gatherings, and tons of decorations. I've loved Christmas since I was little, of course, at first for the presents, but then I developed a taste for appreciating the decorations; after all, my mother used to put up decorations even in the bathroom.
In that way, the house became a somewhat "magical" place for me, full of figurines, stuffed animals, and lights. Using mugs with Christmas designs was a luxury only available during those months, and I could spend ages admiring the miniature ornaments that seemed to tell a story, as the delicacy of these pieces was remarkable, and my mother always managed to find wonderful figures.
Of course, the Christmas tree was a must. I still remember the impression we made when my parents replaced our first tree with a new, bigger one. It reached the ceiling, almost touching it (it was a low ceiling), but for us, it was something magnificent. For years, my mother decorated that tree, guided by the latest accessories and colors, always drawing admiration from visitors.
Now that we're in a smaller place, putting up the Christmas tree has become a challenge. Last year it was because of the lack of space, and now it's due to the unexpected addition to the family of "Cleo," a rather curious kitten who loves to play and climb everywhere. As I write this, Cleo is busy scratching some pieces of cardboard she uses to play. So, what will become of the tree once Cleo sees it? We've had cats before who got along well with the Christmas tree, but Cleo is the most hyperactive cat we've ever adopted (she's a sweetheart; I'm always cuddling her 😇).
I have no doubt that the kitten will want to climb it and will probably end up on the floor. We all think it's not a good idea to put it up, at least not this year since the cat is in her running-around stage. But my sister insists on putting it up. We'll see what happens in the end, although I can already imagine little Cleo thinking they've put another interesting object in the living room for her to play with, and Ying, the adult cat, looking at her with a mixture of confusion and incomprehension.

Christmas Tree at home can really make the Christmas season more special no. I can't remember a Christmas season where we put up Christmas Tree. We always go with just lights. Maybe because my oldies the thought that we're like Cleo who'll just run around to ruin the tree hahahaha. Anyways cat love Christmas tree, i am sure they climb up in there and will end up destroying it. Lol. I think its better to not put some this season 🤣
Yes, it's super obvious that if we put up the tree, Cleo is going to climb it, whether just for the thrill of climbing it or to chew on the branches or play with the ornaments 😆 haha. Since she's in that stage of exploring and wanting to play with everything, I'm always on the lookout to make sure it's something she won't damage or that's dangerous... but with a Christmas tree, it'll be more challenging to control haha.
