CONTENIDO EN ESPAÑOL

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad y amantes de la escritura creativa! Ha llegado el momento de que me sume al concurso de esta semana. Ahora que estamos en época de lluvia, pienso antes de salir, por las complicaciones que puedan presentarse al estar en la calle o al estar en casa, casi rezar para que no se vaya la luz, algo que es frecuente debido a la inestabilidad del sistema eléctrico... pero, mis preocupaciones son insignificantes comparadas a las de otras personas, donde las lluvias, son motivos de alerta.

Una vez, estando pequeña, escuché de mi madre que siempre había que investigar muy bien antes de mudarse, no sólo para asegurar el acceso a los servicios básicos, sino también, corroborar que no hubiese algún río o quebrada cerca y mucho menos que la construcción, estuviera justamente por una vertiente. Esto porque, sin importar los años que pasen "cada río busca su cauce", por lo que llegué a escuchar historias de personas que perdieron sus hogares precisamente porque las mismas habían sido construidas en zonas donde años atrás pasaba un río. De modo que esa información, quedó grabada en mi memoria.

Nunca hay que confiarse de la naturaleza. Los desastres naturales son impredecibles en algunos casos, de modo que, lo mejor es tomar previsiones.

Por suerte, toda mi vida he vivido apartada de zonas en riesgo y realmente me preocupa la poca importancia que le dan algunas personas. Aunque entiendo que, en algunos casos, muchos construyen sus casas en terrenos no aptos o riesgosos, por necesidad.

La época de lluvia es aclamada por los agricultores y necesaria para cubrir los estragos generados durante el tiempo de sequía, sobre todo para las represas. Pero, a pesar de que las lluvias no son tan constantes e intensas como hace años, apenas un poco de agua en las calles es suficiente para acabar dejando una zona completamente inaccesible.

Ahora, con las redes sociales, es más fácil enterarse de las noticias. Tras encontrarme con la crecida del río Orinoco y muchos videos de personas que sacaban agua y hasta peces de casas inundadas. En ese momento recordé el poder de la naturaleza.

Cada vez que llueve con fuerza, agradezco el hallarme viviendo en donde estoy, en una zona alta en donde no hay ese tipo de riesgos. Espero de todo corazón que esas personas que perdieron sus hogares debido al crecimiento de las aguas, puedan hallar de nuevo donde vivir 🙏

Hello to all the members of this community and lovers of creative writing! The time has come for me to join this week's contest. Now that we are in the rainy season, I think before going out, because of the complications that may arise when being on the street or being at home, almost praying that the power doesn't go out, something that is frequent due to the instability of the electrical system... but, my worries are insignificant compared to those of other people, where rain is a cause for alarm.

Once, when I was little, I heard from my mother that you should always do your research thoroughly before moving, not only to ensure access to basic services, but also to verify that there were no rivers or streams nearby, much less that the building was right on a slope. This is because, no matter how many years go by, "every river finds its course," so I heard stories of people who lost their homes precisely because they had been built in areas where a river had flowed years before. So that information stayed with me.

Never trust nature. Natural disasters are unpredictable in some cases, so it's best to take precautions.

Fortunately, I've lived far from at-risk areas all my life, and I'm truly concerned about the lack of importance some people give them. Although I understand that, in some cases, many build their homes on unsuitable or risky land out of necessity.

The rainy season is hailed by farmers and is necessary to cover the damage caused during the drought, especially to the dams. But, even though the rains aren't as constant and intense as they were years ago, just a little water in the streets is enough to leave an area completely inaccessible.

Now, with social media, it's easier to keep up with the news. After experiencing the Orinoco River's flooding and seeing many videos of people pulling water and even fish from flooded homes, I was reminded of the power of nature.

Every time it rains heavily, I am grateful to be living where I am, in a high-altitude area where there are no such risks. I sincerely hope that those people who lost their homes due to rising waters can find a place to live again 🙏
