Indeed, our mission as musicians is to touch the souls of our listeners with the music we perform. Not to cause confusion, commotion or disturbance to our neighbours and listeners. 😪
Going through my Feed few hours ago, checking the posts of my friends and followers on Hive, I came across @benii post about Music From my Neighbour's Point of View.
It was actually an interesting piece.
Well, she also mentioned that it was a challenge given by @mipiano.
So sharp sharp, I checked the challenge post and asked @mipiano if the challenge was still on and she said yes. I was so happy she replied quickly. I appreciate her availability and her awesomeness! 👌
Well I didn't know that I'll be able to produce this piece within few hours. And I really hope you enjoy it.

ARE YOU A MUSICIAN OR DO YOU HAVE A NEIGHBOUR THAT IS A MUSICIAN?
I am in the school right now and my next-door neighbour isn’t a musician, but he enjoys listening to good music.
He has about 3 different music box(es)
This is one of his music boxes, the smallest of them all.
PS: I collected this small music box to practice my entries for Pukumundo #9 and Hive Open Mic #104
Well, I won’t say he disturbs me with his music box because he only plays loud music when the mood is set for that 😌😌 you know what I mean 😏😉 it is as though he reads mind.
So, he shouldn’t be blamed.
If there is anyone to be blamed, I Should be the one 🥺
I am the musician and I am the one charged with crime for disturbing the neighbourhood. 😭😭😭
Please don’t arrest me!😭😭

I don’t have the best gadgets, neither do I have instruments of better quality. I manage the one I have here with me.
I can’t count the number of times I had to record some guitar tunes around 1 – 3am for musical entries in Hive Open Mic. Mhen! Well, I do that each time we have electricity issues over here. So if electricity comes for few hours in the midnight, I just have to get up to make music.
Thanks to this mini sound card, it wouldn’t have been possible for me to do anything, because it will disturb my neighbours.
And, I don't want to go to the police station 😫
DOES SOMEONE IN YOUR CLOSE FAMILY PLAY AN INSTRUMENT
Yes! My immediate elder brother plays the Jazz Drum.
He is the Top 1 Jazz drummer in my home Parish and he has other people that he trains as well, including children.
His desire to play the drums began when we were still younger.
Legend has it that he broke countless plates and converted spoons as his drum stick when we were younger

He is also learning to play the guitar.
He uses this acoustic and he is also a good singer with a baritone voice texture (I hope I am right with the term).
O yeah!
And I also play musical instruments as well.
IS IT DIFFICULT TO LISTEN MANY TIMES TO THE PRACTICING SESSIONS?
As an instrumentalist, Yes, it is difficult! It becomes boring at some point also.
Worst still, when you cant score a particular line or some lines the exact way it was played, you will start feeling incomplete (am I the only one who feels this way? 😪).
IS IT NICE? DO YOU FIND JOY IN THAT?
It is not nice!
It is stressful!
I wish we can all get our different lines without having to repeat songs during practice sessions.
DID YOU HAVE SOME FUNNY MOMENTS?
Well, it was a bit funny and a bit 😭😭😭
While we were preparing for a choir competition in 2015, we had back to back practices: Every evening, and sometimes it lasted for 3-4 hours.
Well, I joined the tenor singers, to learn and develop my voice as well.
When the tenor singers sang their part, I joined and at some point I felt my voice was so perfect and in fact, I felt as though I was the one bringing out the beauty of the tenor part with my voice.
Wishful thinking 😅
I learnt the reality, the hard way! 😭
While we were singing a piece (I can’t remember the name), my wishful thinking continued and I felt I was the stronghold of the Tenor singers.
Ahhhhh, the Choirmaster asked everyone to stop and he told only me to sing that same part. 🙆♂️

Don’t worry about what happened next 😪
I think I am still traumatized 😅😅

Yes!
This is like an indirect way of saying, “do you know what you are playing?”
I suffered this for some years, since I learnt the lead guitar, piano and bass guitar without a tutor. Well, it was a difficult journey. But, I am glad I conquered and didn’t lose hope.
My first outdoor performance in 2016. @magicfingerz was a witness 😅😅

NO! I don’t like to listen to loud music. I like them calm and gentle! Even it it were a genre that uses a danceable beat, well! Still not loud please
WHAT WAS THE WILDEST THING YOU MADE IN YOUR FLAT, BOTHERING THE NEIGHBOURS?
One of the days that I played music at the middle of the night, the cord/wire of my speaker developed some issues and it made a sharp/loud noise in the middle of the night!
It was so terrible!

I am a professional Double Bass player. I play at large musical concerts, musical fiestas and many more professional musical events... however, this happens only in my heart and mind 😅😅😅
I always try my best to avoid this 😪 but sometimes things don't work out always. Little bits of disappointments also help in making us better to avoid them. 👌
