God's love

This is the love of God, inexplicable, unequaled and unique.

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1: 1). This is the first verse we find in the Bible. In the original Hebrew text, the word we translate as God is "Elohim." Did you know that in Hebrew "Elohim" is a plural word?

Later, at the time of the creation of man, it is written in verse 26 that

"God said: Let us make man in our image, after our likeness ..."

Do you see again the use of the plural here by God in "let us" and "ours"?

The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are three distinct persons from God, but from all eternity they have been and are one. The Holy Scriptures clearly speak of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, but they equally insist on the fact that there is only one God. One way we could illustrate this is that 1 x 1 x 1 is always 1.

Yes, "God is one", we could say. It is a tri-unit, commonly called The Trinity.

In this tri-unity, in this singular plural, there has always been an extraordinary cohesion, an infinite peace, a unity without fail, and a love without limits.

However, God the Son, Jesus, chose to leave this perfect and eternal unity to come into the world to save humanity. Yes, as John 3:16 says,

"for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish, but have eternal life."

Think about this: God must really love the world to send his Son, his only Son!

But this momentary separation was necessary so that you and I could be united again with Jesus, reconciled with the Father and filled with his Holy Spirit.

Jesus stripped Himself, left everything, renounced His throne of glory, and He did it out of love for you! He even renounced His unity with the Father for you: “About the ninth hour, Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying: Eli, Eli, lama sabactani? This is: my God, my God, why have you forsaken me? "
(Matthew 27:46).

"Why have you abandoned me?" And to this question, there is another that springs up deep in my heart: "Jesus, why did You abandon Your glory in heaven?" His sweet answer resonates inside me strongly: “For love. For love of you ”.

He did this for you, dear friend, so that by His sacrifice you could have access to forgiveness, to reconciliation with God, and to this communion with the Father. The beloved Son of the Father gave everything so that you too could become a child of God. And now, you too are a beloved child of the Father! Thank you Lord for Your incredible love!
