Hello to all dear friends and welcome back to my blog. Yesterday was Sunday and I thought that I could organize a nice boat trip with the aim of creating a watercolor of the promontory of my city. Then wake up at 6 a.m and departure at 6.45 from the port of Terracina.
Here's what I put in my backpack for my day on the boat: two boxes of watercolors, 4 brushes and a packet of tobacco, filters and papers.
This of the promontory of Terracina is a subject that they often ask me to paint, it is a large rock with a door of Roman origin that the Emperor Trajan after having cut 70 meters of mountain wanted to build as a passage for the chariots and his army .
Under this large arch passes the oldest paved road in the world, the Via Appia, which starts from Rome and reaches Brindisi for over 600 kilometers.
At the top of this rock we can admire one of the oldest temples in Roman times, the temple of Jupiter dating back to the 3rd century BC. where inside it remains of Neolithic civilizations of 900 BC were found.
But let's go back to my boat trip, I assure you that I had a thousand difficulties in painting the watercolor, because of the rolling of the boat and a sense of nausea from seasickness.
I promptly decided to defeat the nausea with a nice bath in the crystal clear waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea, after which I started painting again.
I leave you some passages of the painting, and sorry for the not exactly correct shots but I was in a precarious situation.

Ciao a tutti cari amici e ben tornati sul mio blog. Ieri era domenica ed ho pensato che potevo organizzarmi una bella gita in barca con l'obiettivo di realizzare un acquarello del promontorio della mia città. Quindi sveglia alle 6 a.m e partenza alle 6.45 dal porto di Terracina.
Ecco cosa ho messo nello zaino per la mia giornata in barca: due scatole di acquarelli, 4 pennelli e un pacchetto di tabacco, filtri e cartine.
Questo del promontorio di Terracina è un soggetto che mi chiedono spesso di dipingere, è una grande roccia con una porta di origine romana che l'imperatore Traiano dopo aver fatto tagliare 70 metri di montagna volle far costruire come passaggio per i carri e il suo esercito.
Sotto questo grande arco passa la strada lastricata più antica del mondo, la via Appia, che parte da roma ed arriva fino a Brindisi per oltre 600 chilometri. In alto a questa roccia possiamo ammirare uno dei templi più antichi della romanità, il tempio di Giove risalente al 3° secolo a.C. dove all'interno di esso sono stati ritrovati resti di civiltà neolitiche del 900 a.C.
Ma torniamo alla mia gita in barca, vi assicuro che ho avuto mille difficoltà a dipingere l'acquarello, a causa del rollio della barca e ad un senso di nausea da mal di mare. Prontamente ho deciso di sconfiggere la nausea con un bel bagno nelle acuqa cristalline del mar Tirreno, dopodichè ho ripreso a dipingere.
Vi lascio qualche passaggio del dipinto, e scusate le inquadrature non proprio corrette ma ero in situazione di precarietà.

Thanks for the maritime embrace, however the nausea lasted 2 minutes, after the dive everything went back to normal for a boring day at work. When you want I am available.
