Crossing of sails and colours - watercolor on paper
Hello everyone Hivers and welcome back to my blog. The watercolour I am presenting today is my latest creation representing the sea and sailing boats.
I set up the composition in a minimalist way with two large bands of colours, ultramarine, indigo and cerulean blue for the sea and yellow ochre, Naples yellow, orange and green for the sky and clouds.
I played a lot on the complementarity of colours, blues and oranges, to have a maximum visual contrast.

Naturally, I started without the pencil drawing but with large swathes of colour, within them I worked with the brush to gently erase the colour and leave the paper white for the shape of the sails.

Then I outlined the shape of the sailboats and some orange clouds in the sky.

Incroci di vele e colori - acquarello su carta
Ciao a tutti cari amici Hivers e bentornati sul mio blog. L'acquarello che vi presento oggi è la mia ultima creazione a rappresentare il mare e le barche a vela. Ho impostato la composizione in modo minimale con due grandi fasce di colori, blu oltremare, indigo e blu ceruleo per il mare e giallo ocra, giallo di Napoli, arancione e verdino per il cielo e le nuvole. Ho giocato molto sulla complementarietà dei colori, blu e arancioni, per avere un massimo contrasto visivo. Naturalmente sono partito senza il disegno a matita ma con grandi campiture di colore, all'interno di esse ho lavorato con il pennello per cancellare dolcemente il colore e lasciare il bianco della carta per la forma delle vele. Poi ho delineato la forma delle barche a vela e di alcune nuvole arancioni nel cielo.
