The light of an aurora - watercolor on paper

Hello everyone dear Hivers friends and welcome back to my blog. After a few days of being busy with a trip to Krakow with my students, today I am back to share my latest watercolor work. To make it I was inspired by the northern European light and so I decided to represent a sunrise without a preparatory drawing. The idea was to depict the light of an aurora spread throughout the landscape.
I played a lot with color glazes and muted hues that alternated with the warm and cool colors of the landscape elements.
I tried to portray a misty atmosphere but at the same time calm and full of peace.

La luce di un'aurora - acquarello su carta

Ciao a tutti cari amici Hivers e bentornati sul mio blog. Dopo qualche giorno in cui sono stato impegnato con un viaggio a Cracovia con i miei studenti, oggi torno a condividere il mio ultimo lavoro ad acquarello. Per realizzarlo sono stato ispirato dalla luce del nord Europa e così ho deciso di rappreentare un alba senza disegno preparatorio. L'idea è stata quella di raffigurare la luce di un aurora diffusa in tutto il paesaggio.
Ho giocato molto con le velature di colore e con sfumature tenui che si sono alternate ai colori caldi e freddi degli elementi del paesaggio.
Ho cercato di rappresentare un'atmosfera nebbiosa ma al tempo stesso calma e ricca di pace.

Kraków is my home town (now im living in other part of Poland) funny to find notes about old city in different entries here from time to time. If you ever visit it again and got some spare time im sincerly reccomend visiting place that got me into HIVE @krolestwo . :) greetings .
