War scene - watercolor on paper

I am tired of hearing war news all the time, I am 59 years old and I remember Vietnam, Middle Eastern wars, wars in Afghanistan, former Yugoslavia, Chechnya, Kosovo, Ukraine, just some of the conflicts I still have memories of.

For many years I have been painting conflicts and wars, with watercolors that were created for other, more romantic and artistic purposes.

But I can't always paint classical or romantic subjects, sometimes I have the need to vent, to exorcise the fear and anger at my powerlessness to do anything to stop these wars.

Sono stanco di sentire in continuazione notizie di guerra, ho 59 anni e ricordo il Vietnam, le guerre mediorientali, guerre in Afghanistan, nell'ex Jugoslavia, in Cecenia, in Kossovo, in Ucraina, solo alcuni dei conflitti di cui ho ancora memoria.

Da molti anni dipingo conflitti e guerre, con gli acquarelli che sono nati per altri scopi, più romantici e artistici.

Ma non riesco sempre a dipingere sempre soggetti classici o romantici, talvolta ho il bisogno di sfogarmi, di esorcizzare la paura e la rabbia per la mia impotenza nel fare qualcosa per fermare queste guerre.

First I didn't recognized that it should be a war scene. Wow. The colors are so gentle soft, had to look twice and read... But anyway the colors are super nice and incredible. Love them. 🌞🎨🎉🎶
