FINALLY WORKING WITH CLAY AGAIN!

I am happy to be working with clay again and I have already made the whole base of my relief.

sono felice di poter di nuovo lavorare con l' argilla e ho giá fatto tutta la base del mio rilievo.
When you put the clay it is important that it adheres well, and that it enters well into the mesh, so you have to crush it and pull it in all directions.
Quando si mette l' argilla é importante che aderisca bene, e che entri bene nella rete, bisogna perció schiacciarla e tirarla in tutte le direzioni.
When you are not working on it, it is essential to cover it with plastic and/or sheets so that it does not dry out.
Quando non ci state lavorando é essenziale coprire il tutto con una plastica e/o dei teli in modo che non si asciughi.

After that I started to model what is in the background... never start with the subjects in front!!!! Otherwise you will arrive at a certain point that you will have to dig, and it is not possible because the farthest point is already the horizon.
Fatto questo ho iniziato a modellare ció che sta nello sfondo... mai iniziare dai soggetti davanti!!!! Sennó arriverete ad un certo punto che vi toccherá scavare, e non é possibile perché il punto piú lontano é giá l' orizzonte.
Seeing where the mountain ends and the city on the other side, I started to shape the terrain giving it an inclination that comes progressively towards us.
Vedendo dove termina la montagna e la cittá dall' altra parte, ho iniziato a modellare il terreno dandogli un' inclinazione che viene progressivamene verso di noi.

That is amazing @carolineschell I've always wanted to work in clay or do more 3d work, it must be so satisfying. Really lovely and coaming along nicely.
Please do it! You are such a good artist, and if you don' t work with clay you are losing the wonderful opportunitiy to take out from the paper the people you are painting.
But it's also a lot of fun and a good way to study anatomy ' cause you have to touch a lot 😅
Non vedo l'ora di vederlo completato. Mi ricordo alcuni lavori che avevi postato in passato ed erano una cosa eccezionale! Ma toglimi una curiosità se possibile, perchè nella rete ci sono dei paletti di legno?
Grazie @stea90, infatti quella dei paletti l' avevo spiegato nel post anteriore....servono a dare un aiuto in piú alla rete per sostenere il peso dell' argilla, che arriverá a circa 200 kg a opera finita, e a tenerla insieme meglio 😁 ... anch' io non vedo l' ora di vederlo finito.... ma poi dovró ancora fare il calco in gesso 😅
Cosa?...200 kg? Dalle foto non mi sono reso conto delle dimensioni allora, è un peso importante, anche da muovere dopo. Sono ancora più curioso ora.
Ma da muovere dopo sará piú leggero perché sará di gesso, e una volta asciutto va... comunque avró bisogno di aiuto per spostarla perché il gesso é molto fragile 🤓
Ho capito, l'argilla fa da stampo. Io avevo capito che poi fosse fatta di argilla l'opera. Ma ne fai anche fatte di argilla o si usa solo come stampo?
No si fanno anche in argilla, peró poi ti tocca cuocerla per far la terracotta... e i forni cosí grandi sono rarissimi.... perció dovrei farlo a pezzi e cuocere i pezzi, i quali peró non possono essere armati di metallo perché altrimenti nel forno il rilievo esplode 🤣 ed espolde pure se ci sono bollicine d' aria all' interno 🙉
Ahahah no, allora meglio di no 😄. Ma poi ora che leggo la tua risposta, ma che domanda che ti ho fatto, è si da cuocere l'argilla e dico così, perchè due paeselli più in la del mio, c'è un paese famoso per le ceramiche, ci sono stato diverse volte ai tempi delle scuole e avevamo tentato di fare qualcosa con l'argilla e poi l'avevamo cotta. Io feci un babbo natale, tipo vassoio piatto, ma sembrava un troll povero 😂.
