The sun came out. I had a plan for the day. Take the bike to the bike shop, do a walk and then shopping. Did not work out that way as car had a flat battery - had left the boot open. Got it charging and went to a different plan for the day - finished investing post. Then the clouds came in - got on the bike pronto to see orchids
Spider grevillea - walked to see progress on flying duck orchids
There is progress on the first spot - leaves are double in size and now green. The one budding last week has disappeared and next up is further behind. Did find caladenia alata budding on the opposite side of track to last year

Checked on another flying duck orchid site. Something has been scraping away - last time there were several leaves. Now just one and not yet turned green.
New bud on the way back - probably bearded orchid

Not seen this before - similar but not the same - more purple and less blue

New sun orchid spot - not enough sun to be open
Leek orchid was lying on its side - something has snapped it off. No seeds this year

Short ride. Did ride to some access points rather than walk. Not mynfavourite riding over the rocks. Too old for this. Checked sun orchids where I normally park - 5 budding.
Dinner action - Jamie Oliver Mac and Cheese. Make a roux and then a bechemel
Cook the pasta and mix the sauce through in an oven proof dish
Dress with breadcrumbs, grated cheese, sliced tomato and smoky paprika
Bake for half an hour at 200C and serve with salad.
