Another grey day after another late night. Forecast is for rain late. The grey days drive a depression state. Hard to get motivated to get the bike out and ride to station to find a place to ride safely.
Pushed myself to get out. Walk to Lindfield shops two stations away - shop there in a markets shop and train back. Flowers along the way - lilies in our own garden
Jacarandas are all over - just below the pub
Different lily type growing through the fence on the railway reserve
A different angle over the railway reserve to Killara Station
More flowers along the reserve - lantana - a pervasive weed
Illawarra flame tree from the railway overpass
Found this path along the railway reserve - takes out the big dip as the train line has been built on a level
A jacaranda view across the hill I avoided
Some grand eucalyptus on either side the railway line. Also losing their bark for summer. Been trimmed a not to ensure limbs do not fall on the train power lines
A splash of yellow with jacaranda behind
Bottle brush flower with a few jacaranda petals dropped. Wandered around the markets shop. Bought a few things and headed back to Lindfield Station just as the rain began
Was dry at the Gordon end - whew.
Dinner was something different. Got lots of eggs and asparagus we bought at the weekend. Frittata on the plan
Microwave some potatoes and slice thinly - lay on the bottom of a buttered baking tray. Saute some bacon and onion.
Process is then of layering any veges you have. For this one, sliced zucchini, sliced tomato and asparagus (take off the woody bits). Can use any veges you want but make sure they will cook in 30 minute bake. If not, pre-cook them
Did two layers of saute goodies and veges and then another layer of egg. Topped with crumbs and shaved parmesan and cheddar cheese.
Bake for 30 minutes at 200C - was pretty and tasted great. Did need a bit more salt
