That's the almost perfect toy/ball for Max, in the shape of a rugby or American football, made of hard material which doesn't break or bend. He really struggles to bite into it because of its size and hardness; most of the time, he can't and just pushes and runs with it. The only downside is that he really gets EXHAUSTED in less than 5 minutes and all that on his own. I can see him contracting all the muscles in his body so hard, trying to hold or bite it that at some point he is clearly shaking, this causing the sudden surge in energy levels. :))

Might be he's a bit frustrated too, lol! When I was a kid, we used to have this German Shepherd that would use a basketball as his toy of choice. He'd puncture it and it would partially deflate and he'd carry it around. Most of the kids in the neighborhood were scared of him because of that and the fact that he could break the cow chain that was attached to him when he was out in the back yard. It was a BIG linked chain. He would then canvass the neighborhood. No one would come outside until my parents caught him and brought him back home.

It's solid, he does get a bit frustrated that he can't pick it up as he does with everything else, but he is willing to let us in if we want to join playing together.
