I had a couple of nice surprises today! The first one was at work. Usually, Iβm so interrupted during the day that often, I wonder how I donβt make tons of mistakes! I had about 3 folks come in during the morning and zero in the afternoon! Thatβs unheard of for a Thursday! In addition to that, the phone βοΈ did not ring πoff the hook, either! Almost shocking! π
I got a lot done but itβs never all done!
Then this afternoon as I was going home, π‘ I was stopped by the flashing red lights of the railroad crossing π€οΈ and was close to the tracks as the train π crossed the road. I rolled my window down so I could hear all the sounds the train makes from the whistle to the clickity-clack it makes on the rails. π€οΈ I am an avid train π lover and they have always fascinated me! This train had 3 diesel engines pulling it although it wasnβt a long train. I hardly ever get stopped at this railroad π€οΈ crossing so it was pretty sweet! π€©
At home, π‘ my Virginia Creeper is turning! π€©π€©π€©
This next picture had some interesting contrasts.
Tomorrow brings a fully booked day and Iβm hoping itβs peaceful as well. Unfortunately, the quietness did not stave off a headache today. It was pretty bad. π

You get fascinated by simple things, and it's admirable.
I love everything about them! I have this dream of being able to actually drive (be the engineer) of a live steam train! Some years ago, I was able to run a live steam train scaled down but still big enough to ride, full of passengers. It was lovely; all the coal smoke and cinders falling in my hair! But.....I want to have the opportunity to run the real, full sized steam train! It would be so awesome!
When I was a child, I wanted to ride a train. Until now I haven't even tried. There's no train in our place. There used to be one but past governments didn't take care of them.
The steam train is still around but only for riding with the purchase of tickets and only in a couple of places in the country. We still have Amtrak passenger trains available to ride cross country, but beyond that, it's a means of shipping goods. Our son used to work for the BNSF Railroad, but they were closing his hub down and he had to seek employment elsewhere.
Ohhh... I just learned you have a son. Good to know.

It's been there for many years and used to go all the way around the house. We tore all but this part down as it was housing plants that were growing out of control and also added on a covered wrap around type porch.
The Virginia Creeper is a slow grower and has been there about 5 years, so it may take the rest of my lifetime for it to cover it, lol! Love ya sis!π€πππΈ !LADY

Lots of fun surprises all in one day! I love trains too. There is nothing as romantic as the sound of a far-off train, blowing its whistle as it nears the station.
When my kids were little, I used to sing to sing them to sleep with the song Morningtown Ride by Raffi. I always hoped the sense of calm of the train rumbling through the night into morning would lull them to sleep.
We hear the trains here all of the time! It's especially lovely late at night! The song is very nice, and ironically kind of reminds me of Puff, the Magic Dragon. Thanks for sharing, @jayna!ππ€
I know the joy when you have sound of the train.
We don't have much railroad in my country so it might be hard seeing one or using it as a means of transportation
