…..at yesterday! Yesterday was all about the Ski to Sea relay race. Today is a look back at all that wasn’t about the race! It’s also a time to think of all the service men and women who have given their lives during active duty. It is Memorial Day, and we thank them for their sacrifice. 🙏
We spent a bit of time down at the bay. The tide was somewhat out; we’ve not managed to hit those super low tides lately.
At this slab of stone @silvertop is standing on, we’ve gotten further out in the past. There’s all kinds of nooks and crannies here-perfect starfish habitats. I was looking for them but sadly, didn’t find one.
I like to photograph the boardwalk from the angles below it. There are two of these boardwalks above the water.
Nearby was Mr. Duck!
Being as it was Sunday and we’d seen a maintenance truck on the rails, we knew there’d be no trains. We parked up above on Chuckanut Drive and descended a staircase to a trail that leads to one entrance to the park. You must cross the railroad there. We’ve been here before when the trains come by. It’s a full body experience!
The water was agitated by the brisk breeze that was blowing. The sounds of the waves were really nice. Enjoy this video, but also enjoy the sounds of the waves!

Nearby, there is a Wood’s Coffeehouse. Around the exterior there are some lovely Columbines.
There is always something to see down at the bay.
The water was coming in and out. I caught the photo as the water was in. It was interesting to watch how it changed the look of this.
This last picture made me think of Stone Hinge but from a different perspective.
Today was sort of a stay at home day. I did some housework, ride the stationary bike and whatnot. Tomorrow brings me to ladies Bible study. I’m looking forward to it.

Interestingly, we moved here because of the proximity of the mountains and the sea. We live in the foothills, but rarely go up into the mountains. It's only been over the past 3-ish years of the 25 years we've lived here, that we actually go to the bay! Work and life kind of got in the way. I used to work 48 hours per week, led worship at church every weekend, and during part of that, had a ministry online as well. Then of course, there's the coffee roasting......all this left little time (even to sleep sometimes!).
Now, I work just 3 days a week and we try to enjoy bits and pieces. I'm still busy, but sometimes, I just have to stop and smell the roses.
Hopefully, someday soon, you'll get to go back to the sea to visit. Take care and enjoy the week! !LADY !LUV !HOPE !PIMP

The columbines are pretty!!! Thanks for including a video of the water. I miss the sound of waves. Unfortunately, no travel for me this year, and I was hoping to go to Hawaii... too much in my plate. I had a big event last March, and I have not recovered, ARRGH!!!
