Making Space for More Vegetables

in Actifit6 years ago

I needed to get some exercise since I am not supposed to leave my house. I decided to dig up a 4‘ x 4‘ patch of grass so that I could plant some of my vegetables in the ground.

I have many of the vegetables planted in pots on my porch, but they really need to be put in the ground.

I have plenty of space in my backyard but my backyard is not fenced in on one side. I get regular visits from squirrels, Chipmunks, a red tailed fox, and the occasional deer.

Frankly, I don’t know what else comes into my large heavily wooded backyard. I only have squirrels and birds that come on my porch when everything is very quiet around the house.

Today was a beautiful day outside and the weather was cool and crisp. I had four 4 x 4 posts already cut that I had planned to use for another raised garden bed.

I decided to use them to frame my small vegetable patch on the side of my house. The reason that I used that particular space is because it is easy to maintain and my garden hose can easily reach it.

It is lunchtime. Actually, it is past my lunchtime and I am finished planting what I want to work on today.

Enjoy your day.
