My Actifit Report Card: May 14 2021

in Actifit3 years ago

I'm back. I mowed the lawn and make use of my new battery powered hedge trimmer. I keep gradually trimming the blackberries back and getting them farther away from my asparagus patch. Maybe a few more feet and I'll have some room to plant a few more asparagus crowns.

I turned over the compost and buried all the worms with some topsoil. When there are plenty of worms the compost does very well.

I really like all the battery powered yard care tools. I sure is easier than filling up my gas can and storing that in the garage. I'm not sure what to do with the gas can. I'm not sure anyone will take it, it seems to be a disposal issue. Maybe I'll donate it to Goodwill, lol. There no gas in it but they still don't want it in the recycle bin or trash can.

This lake looked very inviting for a quick dip:

There was nobody in it and nobody around. I felt a bit like going skinny dipping but it was just a bit cold for that. Maybe next time I'll do that, but if the crowds are around I would have to keep things PG, lol.

We were just talking about the fact that so many gas tools end up not running. I got so many waiting to take it in for scrap. Battery even 18 volt ones seem to do the trick just fine for what I need.

Small gas engines are always fouling the plug and getting gummed up in the carburetor. Even the gas gets messed up if it is stored too long.

I've got a 60 volt setup for all my stuff. It works with more power than I really need for the size of the yard.

Oh yeah 60v is sweet. I was cheap and wanted to be able to use the same batteries as in my drill etc :) Ever so 18v weed eater gets it done for all I need it to do.

9014 excellent actifit point reblog your posting dear sir

Thank you, I appreciate that!

I just bought an electric lawnmower and I am as happy as can be with it. It is so light, it doesn't make the lines that it usually makes with the other. I have had the others yard tools with batteries/chargers for a long time now. I have to say that all of them have been good to me and they seem to get less abuse than the gas.

I had 6 gas cans. Seems every time I needed one, I didn't have it right there. I couldn't find a Goodwill/Salvation Army that would take them, so I put a sign on them that said Free and someone picked them up and took them away.

I just went in and cut the berries back. They didn't seem to mind it. They were encroaching everywhere. They choked out some irises too. Asparagus is a much better deal. The gift that keeps giving.

That lake does look refreshing... but, it may have things down there! :) Enjoy your day, it looks like a good one! You are such a consistant stepper!

Battery electric mowers are wonderful. I used to have one that ran off a power cord but that got to be kind of difficult after a bit. It was also noisier than the one I have now.

The new mower used to run a lot more off the low power mode but it runs mostly on high power mode now. Maybe it needs to have the blades sharpened or something. It still seems quieter in high power mode than other mowers I have used.

Thank you and enjoy your day as well!

The one I have is pretty quiet and perhaps the battery needs to be replaced? Or the blades - you are probably right. I was surprised by how easy it is to sharpen blades with a rasp. Of course, I think the mulching blades I still bring in. The shape is beyond my skillset.

I never thought I would like an electric mower, but, I can see how awesome they are and so much better for our environment.

Happy Sunday!

At first I thought that square of floats was a string of lights across the water, then I got the perspective. :)

It does look that way with the lighting and still water.
