Hello everyone π,
Happy Caturday π and a very warm welcome from Bob and yours trulyπΉ. It's Bob's day to claw πΎ into the blockchain and also the second week of the year is gone. Hopefully you are doing well with your new year's resolutionsπΉ. Anyway, it's been a great day and as it fades away, I am raring to go with my stepping activities and also share some of the trending stories that made headlines. Thank you for reading and let's take it away π¨.
So as usual, I kicked off early with a few rounds of brisk walking π£ and jogging around the neighborhood π². It was a beautiful sunny π morning and I enjoyed the fresh morning breeze.
Then I was back indoors for a bit of resting before embarking on the little house chores around the house. Up and down and in between I kept watching the news for trending stories. Then later in the afternoon a quick stop at the shopping centre for groceries. Next, I was back indoors sleeping for the usual refreshing afternoon napπ€. The evening came in quite swiftly, I was up, cooking and watching a bit of you tube and some soccer matches. The interesting one was between Manchester United and CityπΉ.
The sunset walk came as it was almost getting dark, as always slow paced enjoying the cool evening/night breeze. I finally made it back home safe and sound calling it a day.
So that was my day but lets finish with some of the trending stories.
Locally, a rather quiet day except for the usual political shenanigans πΉ, In Tunisia widespread protests from opposition parties on the 12th anniversary of the jasmine revolution. Protesters marched that famous street and demand the president to step down for clawing back on the democratic strides the country had made. The economic downturn taking its toll on the population, rising prices in the midst of wide scale unemploymentπ.
Globally, Ukraine trending as Russia fired more than 30 missiles aimed at energy infrastructure across multiple cities in the country, including Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv . In Dnipro deaths reported as a nine storey residential building was turned into rubble π.
In the middle east thousands protested Israeli govt plans to overhaul the legal system. PM Netanyahu has made reform of legal system a centrepiece of his agenda πΉ.
Nearby, Iran trending as they executed a former defence ministry official for spying for the UK π. He is a dual citizen of UK but Iran doesn't recognize dual nationality, they just have a penchant for killing π‘. They've been executing protesters too. He wasn't even availed consular advise and said a confession was tortured out of himπ.
Across the pond in the US, more classified documents were found in the home of president Biden, this in addition to what was found yesterday π. A special council was appointed earlier this week to investigate the issue.
Finally, Greta Thunberg joined other climate activists for a march in western Germany to try and stop the German govt from demolishing a village inorder to expand coal mining. Activists doing the most, chaining themselves to roofs, in attics, in tree housesπΉ. I don't think they will succeed in this one.

I saw the protest in Tunisia, it looks peaceful, and seeing even senior citizens in the crowd shows how serious it is.
